Hi my wife and I have finally agreed on a donor...but...of course there's a catch. The donor #2851 has a waiting list. When I spoke with someone at Fairfax they said that they had 4 IUI A.R.T vials and they can be used for regular IUI procedures, but since they have a lower motile the doctor will most likely use 2 vials per cycle instead of 1.
Has anyone had experience with this type of situation before?? We are just started the birth planning process and we're so overwhelmed with the technicality of finding out perfect donor but the donor having a waiting list.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated!!
*Also has any one on this forum had a pregnancy with donor#2851?
Hope to hear for you soon!!

We just purchased 4 ICI A.R.T. I know that's a bit different from IUI A.R.T. vials, but we were also told we'd have to combine two vials given the lower counts. I consulted with my doctor and he said that seems reasonable. We plan to do IUI though, so we'll have to also do the sperm washing at the clinic since they didn't have any IUI A.R.T. vials. We were 100% set on this donor so we went with it, but it's less than ideal, especially since the price of the vials is still high. I know, it's VERY overwhelming. Good luck!

So happy you replied!!! We have our hearts set on this donor as well, he even seems to have the same personality as my wife! Our count for the IUI A.R.T vials is 8 million per 5/mL and 20% motility. The numbers aren't horrible, and just remember it only takes 1 strong swimmer!! What are your #'s? We have our 1st consultation this Thursday and then will start the process to schedule our 1st IUI. Let's please keep in touch on this thread! Good luck to you as well!!

I believe our numbers were also right around 8 million. We are taking a bit of a break as we had 3 failed IUI's but really hoping the 4th time is a charm! Will be wishing you lots of luck! Very exciting (but stressful, of course)!

Just got back from our 2nd Dr's visit and received some results. My thyroid level is very slightly low so the Dr. prescribed me synthroid so my levels are at their optimum level for the IUI. They did an internal sono again I'm 9 days into my cycle and have 1 follicle that measured 14mm (which seems okay I guess??) Have to go back the day I'm ovulating to check blood levels to be sure. We are hoping to start our 1st IUI in July. I'm not expecting anything until it happens
Positive thoughts and vibes your way!!! Do you have any vials left or was that all you were able to buy?? I have been searching high and low for people using this donor as well to hear their stories but have found nothing...except you!! So I'm glad we're not alone on this journey with the same donor!!

I know this post is old, but I just ordered two of this donor's vials.
