Anyone do this without help from extended family?

I started the process two Augusts ago to become a SMBC. I got pregnant on my 2nd IUI but miscarried. I am about to go into IUI #5...

The thing is my situation has changed. I work FT in shift work and work all weekends and most stat holidays. When I started out my Mom/Dad said they would be my backup babysitter for any time I couldn't find a babysitter. Talking to them recently I don't think I will be able to rely on them much due to other things going on in the family. So now I wonder if it's responsible to continue on? My plan would be once my maternity leave is done (1-1.5 years) I would go back to work, hire babysitters and work on getting a job with better hours. But I like to have things organized and I worry that I won't get a new job, can't find a reliable babysitter, can't pay bills, have to quit my job and it all goes down hill from there...!

I've had friends tell me that it will all work out but I am a worrier and well, I worry. lol But the idea that I may/should stop trying has left me depressed and heartbroken.

Has anyone done this with little to no family support? Any advice?

Little to no help is what I’m doing. My parents and I live on opposite coasts. My extended family is an hour away. Daycare is a lifesaver. I have to travel for work on occasion so I’ve had to find sitters who can stay overnight and will use my Daycare so I’m not wasting money. I have some good friends that help a little. And I take my daughter a lot of places others may choose not to like restaurants. If anything my daughter is better off for it. The shyness all kids go through isn’t nearly as bad as kids I know that are more sheltered.

Don’t let this be the thing that stops you. You will figure it out. May need to be creative and extra careful about who/where you leave the little one but if you’re a planner it will come together in some way.
