Has anyone tried or heard anything about cryogenic? I'm just wondering because it seems as though they might be slightly cheaper. Is fairfax better and thats why they are more expensive?

You are right, the other site is cheaper and they have free childhood photos. I did notice that the ones that I liked weren't available and I couldn't find where they had a forum. This is where I get the scoop on donors, so those are big negatives for me.

During an initial consultation one of my doctors told me that she wasn't really confident with the way that California Crygenics froze their samples, and that she had had some issues with their samples not being usable in the past... that's why we ultimately decided on Fairfax.

I did see somewhere, but I dont remember where, that they did have a forum. However, if your doctor said she had problems with them then I wont use them either. Thanks!!

Are you refering to the California bank or the MN one? There is a MN bank that is Cryogenic and found at www.cryolab.com . It is actually a sister to this bank. THey do have a forum and they are who I used with excellent results.

I was talking about www.cryolab.com I'm interested in them because they have donors I liked, the family forum AND their prices appear to be better. Do you have a preferance of which one you like best?

I looked at the cryolab website and like some other banks they require you to pay a $975 deposit for the tank, and also charge you $50/day for tank rental if kept over a cetain number of days...so these issues may drive up the price some if your doctors office does not store the samples

This is where you are wrong. They charge you for the tank if it doesnt get returned, however there is no deposit to be paid. Most clinics tell you when to order the sperm and have it sent to them, they also are responsible for sending it back. Depending on the clinic you go to, they will have the labs they work with. I used this bank. My clinic does not store the samples. I would order the sperm when told to do so, it would be shipped to my clinic and they would ship the container back, never had any deposits or late fees. The tank only keeps the sperm frozen for so long so really going over the day limit and being charged isnt an issue.
