We will be using him for our first clinical IVF next month. Did you end up using him? If so, how did it go?
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
We did use him! We are currently in the TWW for our very first IUI. We find out on the 13th if it took so we will see! Keep me posted on how it goes!! :)

We used 4610 and are expecting!!!!

Conleyl1... That's so awesome!! Congrats! We find out tomorrow if we are pregnant. It was the first iui so we will see.

Hello, can you tell me if you used iui or ici vials? We attempted once with this donor which was unsuccessful. Thanks!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
We used iui and the first one was unsuccessful, next week we try for round 2.

Conleyl1- what did you use? How many tries did it take??
  • conleyl1conleyl1 Junior Member Junior Member
We used iui and the tried twice before it was successful!!

Found out today it's a GIRL!!!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
Wow congrats!!!! We go in next week for IUI number 3, this process can be so frustrating! Keeping my fingers crossed this one takes.

My partner and I ordered three vials of IUI from donor 4610. We are so excited to begin our journey! We will keep everyone updated!
  • hjfrazierhjfrazier Junior Member Junior Member
So... Any updates ladies? My partner and I are considering this doner. :)
  • ShanandkateShanandkate Junior Member Junior Member
Our first IUI was today. The total motile count was 15 million. Our doctor wasn't happy with the count as he says it should have been much higher, but he says that happens sometimes when you freeze and then thaw the sperm. It is above Fairfax's quality standard of 10 million, so we are hoping it's enough. Now the tough two week wait begins...although we've been reading and have seen that some people show a positive on a home pregnancy test after eight days. So we are trying to decide when to test. Our doctor said a home test was fine and a blood test wasn't necessary until after a missed period. Any advice on when to start testing? Positive thoughts and energy would be greatly appreciated!

We have done 3 IUI's with 4610 and no success so we are switching to IVF. We go in at some point between June 2nd and 10th for the retrieval. Keeping our fingers crossed this one works!!! Good luck everyone!
  • ShanandkateShanandkate Junior Member Junior Member
Sorry to hear that your three IUIs were unsuccessful, Laurenblum. I hope IVF works the first time!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
Shanandkate, your two week wait should be over this week correct? How did it go?? I hope you got a BFP! We just did the egg retrieval for our 1st IVF yesterday, it went really well, we got 9 eggs out and found out today that 8 fertilized!!! Now we just wait until Sunday to do the transfer and then we get to wait two weeks!! wooooo Hope everything went well for you guys!
  • ShanandkateShanandkate Junior Member Junior Member
I started my period yesterday...but we are staying positive as this was only our first try. Your news is exciting!!! You will have to keep is updated!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
Well good news!! We finally got a BFP!!!! We went on Friday for our beta and it was a 114.9. The doctor said she wanted it to double by today, we were really nervous it wouldn't but it more than doubled and is now 365! This up coming Friday we have our first ultra sound!! Keeping our fingers crossed all goes smoothly for this one!! @Shanandkate I hope everything is going well for you this second round!! Keep us posted! :D
  • ShanandkateShanandkate Junior Member Junior Member
That is AWESOME news!!! So happy for you! Did you still use the same donor with IVF? (4610?) We are on day 6 of the TWW. Trying to wait patiently for another week!!! (Katie)
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
We did use 4610 and still have 10 vials in storage for future siblings! We are so excited but not out of the woods yet, still need to get through the first trimester before I will relax a bit!

The TWW is torture!!!! During the last TWW we ended up testing early, we could not take it anymore! Stay strong and keep me posted!!

I have had brown spotting since Saturday. Period was supposed to arrive today and didn't. Pregnancy test is saying negative. Calling the doctor tomorrow. Hoping that the spotting was implantation and that it's just too early for the test. So frustrating!!! Keeping positive for a pregnancy!!!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
I hope it was implantation!! Let me know how it goes! We unfortunately had a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage). We asked the doctor many questions and a main one was could it possibly be the sperm and she said 100 percent no. So that's good news, we are going to do IVF again but this time retrieve the eggs in August then wait to transfer until October.

I really hope you guys are pregnant!! Keep me posted!
  • ShanandkateShanandkate Junior Member Junior Member
I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I have never been pregnant; however, I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing one. Good to hear that the sperm isn't the cause, especially since you purchased so much! Best wishes in October!

Took a blood test today, and it was negative. We have a friend at the lab so we did it on our own. The doctor hasn't ordered one yet. I am wishing that I wouldn't have gone. Doc wants us to wait until Saturday to see if my period starts or if the pee test is positive, but we just couldn't wait. So worried that the test is right. Hoping beyond hope that it's just too early. : (

My period came yesterday. It is heartbreaking. Why does it have to be so hard?
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
Oh NOOO!!!! I am so sorry!! You know when my wife and I first started this process in October of last year I told her "just be prepared, there will be many ups and downs". But now that I am living it, there is no possible way to prepare for anything so hard. It is a long and tiring process but keep your head up. If you ever need to chat you can always private message me as well, we know all to well what this feeling is like :(

We are almost 32 weeks pregnant with a baby girl from this donor. She is healthy and growing more and more each day. She will be here the first week in September. Good luck to everyone trying. It can be a frustrating process but it will be worth it when we hold the little munchkin in just 8 short weeks!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
Conleyl1 congrats!!!! that is awesome news. We will beging IVF #2 in August, freeze all and then transfer embryos in October!

My wife and I used this donor for three different attempts. We had 2 unsuccessful IUIs and then after really talking things over with our Dr. decided to try IVF. We are happily expecting a boy in January! I was initially pregnant with twins but miscarried one at week 8. It has definitely been a heck of an emotional affair but also a journey that we are so glad we are on. Wish everyone the best!

Baby Girl is due any day! She is due on Monday and will be hoping to meet our beautiful daughter sometime this week at the latest!
  • LaurenblumLaurenblum Member Member
@conleyl1: did you have the baby!? I am so excited for you! We go in on the 11th for IVF #2 and hoping this is the one.

@Tennisbutros: Congrats on the news!! I am sorry to hear you lost one however, but it is good news you will be expecting a little boy in January!

    @ShanandKate: Any updates!????

My wife and I talk about how strange it is to think that our unborn children already have siblings in the world but at the same time it is so cool. Happy Wednesday everyone, hope to hear from you all soon!
  • TennisbutrosTennisbutros Junior Member Junior Member
@ Laurenblum: Thanks! We are at 26 weeks and he is doing great, feeling him happily use me as his punching bag is amazing. We too also talk about potential siblings out there.

I'm not sure when this month you gals are doing the transfer but I wish you the best.

Yes!! Beautiful baby girl was born on September 12! 21.5 inches 8 pounds 8 ounces. She has super long fingers and toes and looks as if she is going to be a tall one! Very good baby and we feel very blessed...
