Femara/Letrozole???

I conceived my DD on my first round of Femara(5mgs). It was also my first try with her donor. I had done 2 IUIs prior using Clomid and a different sperm bank/donor but neither worked. Femara was also much easier on me physically and mentally than Clomid was. I'm glad that I asked my doctor about switching. Good luck! I hope that you conceive quickly!

I don't know how I responded to the first two IUIs because I wasn't monitored. I just went in for my IUI the day after a positive ovulation test. For my attempted 3rd IUI I decided to have an ultrasound done on cycle day 12 and that cycle was cancelled because the ultrasound showed that I had either not responded or that I had ovulated really early. It also showed that my lining was thin. I ended up taking a break from the IUIs for a long time after that cycle. When I was ready to try again, my husband and I found a new donor and I switched to Femara and I decided to start unmonitored again since all of my blood work came back normal. The Femara and the new donor did the trick! I also had a HSG done a week before that IUI so maybe that helped too.

I know this is late, but I am posting for those still reading this. Our first IUI worked, and is how we conceived our son. This was unmedicated. We tried another IUI back in July 2015 which was unsuccessful. Started Femara for my September Cycle, resulting in 2 follicles, one dominating quite a bit over the other. That cycle was also unsuccessful. It all depends on how your body will respond. Since we ran out of vials prepared for IUI (we wanted the same donor as my son), we bought an IVF vial and decided to go that route. I was placed on Birth Control for 3 weeks, and also Lupron to suppress my ovaries. I did Gonal-f to stim and only ended up with 2 follicles. They wanted to see 8-9, so they cancelled that cycle. Then we were preparing for our next IVF cycle and I Decided to check back on here to see if by some miracle, any IUI vials were available (the donor wasn't supplying any more). To our surprise, somebody sold them back to Fairfax, and I am currently undergoing another Femara cycle with IUI. This morning showed THREE mature follicles.. more than they could get with the injectables. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Hi, I have the third IUI this month because the first two went bad and I was using clomid, but now I'm doing a different cycle and and a lot of ultrasounds with gonadotropin injections

I switched to Letrozol because after several tries the Clomid was not allowing to get a thick enough lining. Both of my pregnancies occurred with a Letrozol/Follistem combo
