Denied meds to help time ovulation... suggested "the stork" - anyone?

Single, thus my need, no known infertility per se. Matter of fact I did have one miscarriage, but unrelated to my IUI attempts. I've tried several times with IUIs (5? 6?) and have had a hard time nailing down ovulation time and arrival of my specimen (I am with a local drs office, no access to a 7 day a week clinic here), so no luck.
Today I approached my doctor's office with the desire to start trying again this summer and asked what we could do to help get more confidence on the timing of ovulation. They're nixing the idea of using any type of drugs and want me to stick with unmedicated attempts.
They did however note the availability of something called 'the stork' anyone heard of/tried it? [thestorkforwomen.com] The dr said I could possibly use this to do my own procedure (which freaks me out a bit) at home. I asked if that would mean IUI or ICI prep and I don't think the individual I saw was sure. I'd think IUI prep given how it seems to work and that we know an ICI prep/fresh into the uterus would cause cramping etc.
Reading the pamphlet it looks like there is a condom shaped item that you put the specimen in and an apparatus that allows you to get a cap snugged over your cervix. I guess it's made for couples that are having troubles?... so you'd think you'd need some 'help' to get this thing in place.
Thoughts?
