Recommendations for ovulation tester brands/devices

I've always bought the rather inexpensive pee-test sticks for ovulation but haven't had stellar results - ex. morning urine giving barely a line and I've since learned you shouldn't use the first pee of the morning for an ovulation test or you could get false positives.

If you use(d0 an ovulation monitor - what type do/did you use(d)? Did you pick it on your own? Recommended by doctor? Easy to use? Expensive? What do you like/dislike about it? I've even heard there is a watch out there... anyone use that?

Clearblue digital are the ones I'm pretty sure I used. The ones with a smiley face if you're ovulating. Super expensive but worth it. I even bought the set with 20 and would start using them really early in my cycle. Originally I used cheap tests but when I was struggling to successfully track my ovulation my midwife suggested these. She said they're the best and I definitely agree. It's worth the money, especially when doing IUI to feel confident that you're ovulating.

Clear blue worked best for us. We used three different kinds and it picked up the surge first before first response would. The best part about clear blue is that you can take the test apart and see the ovulation line. It becomes dark when you're surging, but for two days prior to the surge we noticed that the line was starting to form... So we could begin to think about when to inseminate.

    Good luck!!

Awesome feedback... especially thankful for the 'early hint' information, that would be very useful for me. I appreciate you taking the time to offer up your experiences to help me!

Well I ordered my CB goodies today! Note everyone: There is a $3 off coupon on the 30 pack of the little sticks on Amazon. Every bit helps, right?
