Hello.

My partner and I, me being the carrier, have tried 3 unmedicated IUI's without a pregnancy. We did the 4th try(different donor than first three) medicated with Clomid 50mg(I produced two great sized eggs 21 and 19) and then Ovridrel trigger. No pregnancy on #4. We skipped a month and now are going in to try #5. I go in on Sunday for CD-3 ultrasound, wait until the day after Easter for trigger then IUI on April 22. I am trying so hard to remain positive. I have no fertility problems. Ovulations are on track as are my periods. I am 38, so I am really holding out hope that this one takes as I the older I get, the less I feel my chances are.

I was 38 when I got pregnant with my son. You have to remember that getting pregnant using iui has the same chance of getting pregnant as a husband and wife. It is around 25%. It can take 4-6 tries. I know it feels that with all the tests all the timing that the success rate would be more like 50% but it isn't. I say this to give you hope not to take it away. I got pregnant after 8 months of trying. I only have one ovary and after starting the process and injections found out I had a low ovarian reserve. So if it can work for me it can work for you.

Have you thought about accupuncture? There is a book the infertility cure that helped me. The month after starting accupuncture and changing my diet is when I got my bfp. Good luck and don't give up hope!

I carried the first time and my wife and I now have 6 year old twins. This time my wife wanted to carry (and I'm so glad lol) and it took 9 tries. On the eighth try we had some extensive testing done and found that she had a blocked tube. Ironically she in the same month was ovulating from the unblocked side and she got pregnant! We are now expecting baby #3! Don't get discouraged it will happen! Best of luck!

I read about doing accupuncture, but haven't pursued that route yet. I did change my diet and have been doing low/no carbs for the last two weeks. I didn't think it was making a difference until I realized that I had more energy and didn't feel tired after lunch or by late afternoon. I do workout 4-5 times a week as well. We will see what happens this round. Maybe accupuncture could be in my future. :)

Don't give up! We finally got pregnant on the 7th attempt. I highly recommend acupuncture! I started it a month before I finally got PG. I really feel like it helped!

We received our BFN yesterday with try #5, so I have made an appointment with a Fertility/Infertility Accupuncturist. I go next Friday. We have also decided to skip this month to wait and see how it goes with the accupuncture and start try #6 in June. I do have a submucosal fibroid however my tubes are not blocked. Up until this last time, nothing was ever said about the fibroid being a problem. My uterus though does have a slight tilt to it, so it is never very easy getting the IUI, although this time was extremely long, which made the doc think that if we didn't get a positive, that the fibroid may be an issue. Hoping the accupuncture works.
