Finally seeing a light

Well, I've finally talked to a doctor here who is making me feel a little more hope. You see, to now the doctors and midwives said no on the thought of medications to trigger ovulation and left me feeling on my own to really research and figure out timing.

This one is willing to go the route of a trigger shot to help with the fact that my period was all over the chart the last time I stopped taking bc, the office not being open on weekends, and past lack of success. He also sent me for an AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) blood test, so this might give me some confidence or disappointing news for our plans moving forward.

So fingers crossed... and even more hope that my selected donor will still have IuI specimens available when we're ready to roll in July (see that positive phrasing - _when_)!

Doctor had the nurse call yesterday... they basically just gave me telephone numbers for fertility places 2 1/2 hours away. I guess that means he no longer plans on even waiting to see if my cycles are regular.

So, I ask... have you decided what would be your 'give up point'? Where would all hope be lost for you?

We have driven over 2 hours for appointments. For us, it was worth the drive. Listen to your heart.

If a specialist says they can help you, I wouldn't give up. It was expensive to bring my daughter into this world, but she is more than worth every penny. I can't put a price tag on her. Had I known how much joy, happiness, and love she was going to bring, I would have spent my last dollar to get her. Don't give up until the doctor recommends it.
