Reciprocal IVF

Trishtrish88Trishtrish88 Junior Member Junior Member
Has anyone conceived this way? My wife and I would like to use my egg with a sperm donor and her to carry. We are just starting our process, had our consultation and are looking at sperm donors.

Would love to hear about your experience and any advice you may have.

Thanks for reading.

Trish

Hi! My partner and I just started our first reciprocal IVF cycle. We have been on BC pills for two weeks and Lupron shots for one week. We're trying to finalize our sperm donor and possibly using donor 4707. I would love to talk more about this if you want!

That is exciting! How are the shots going? side-effects? painful?

We are waiting for my testing, I have to be on the third day of my cycle, so probably next month.

My wife had her hysteroscopy which was painful but everything looks good!

Are you having as much trouble finalizing a donor as we are?!

Thanks for writing back! I'm looking forward to hearing more about your process!

We had our 'med teach this morning in which our IVF coordinator taught my partner how to mix and inject her egg stimulation meds. It was a little intimidating but in the end I don't think it will be that bad. The Lupron shots have been pretty easy. Her egg retrieval and my embryo transfer are scheduled for end of May!

Choosing a donor was really hard. I ended up getting input from my family, kind of for fun to to help us decide. We chose 4707.

Let me know how it goes!

How is it going for you? Have you transferred yet? Pregnant? Would love to hear!

We are waiting to hear back whether we are doing a day three or day five transfer. Hoping our embryos are growing strong!

Hi! That is so exciting that you've done the transfer. How is it going? Yes, I got pregnant the first try, but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks. We had a perfect ultrasound with strong heartbeat at 6 weeks, then found out about the miscarriage. It's been so incredibly sad, but we're starting to feel normal again and will try another transfer in a few months.

I don't mean to be a downer, and hope all is going well for you. Please update when you have a chance :)

I'm so sorry to hear that, I couldn't imagine what you're going through. We will keep you in our thoughts!

My wife is pregnant on the first try with a five day transfer, she is six weeks pregnant. We have our first ultrasound next week!

Please keep us updated! Baby dust!!!

So we found out at our first ultrasound that it was a blighted ovum, so she will miscarry any time now. We are so devastated! Good news is that we have a few frozen so we just have to keep trying. Please let me know how your next round goes, good Luck!
