So far we have found 12 donor siblings within our group. There are many different family scenarios within our group. There are a few families who wish to seek other siblings, however, due to their situation, do not want the information for public view. After googling our donor number, her entire story that was posted to me on a thread was one of the top things on the search.

If we have to be approved for our donors forum and only those families that used that donor allowed in the forum then why is it that EVERYONE on google can see our posts when we should have privacy and feel as though only those within our donor group will know our story.

I just searched google and found my conversations archived, as well.

This entire forum is not private- it is open and visible to the public and can be index by Google. Any information that is posted in the public forums is not confidential and it is up to each member how much information they are comfortable sharing on the internet. This includes the forums called "Fertility Treatments," "Selecting a Donor," "Share Your Story," "Single Mothers," "Same Sex Couples, and "Couples with Fertility Issues." This is discussed in our Terms of Use- "Public forum topics will be visible to thousands of users, and potentially the world."

Fairfax Cryobank did set up a separate forum that is private for each donor. It is listed under "Private forums by donor number/Sibling Registry." Anything that is posted under this private group is not indexed by Google and not searchable. This requires additional access and is where people can post more personal information should they choose. This will be visible only to those who have access to this forum.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. We will what we can to help remove any information that was posted in the public area that a person is not comfortable with sharing, however, it is not considered a security issue on part of this forum.
