7 unsuccessful IUIs (low sperm count)

I have had 7 unsuccessful IUIs done with donor sperm from Fairfax. All vials were under the 10 million guarantee (6 million on average). I have received the pay back each time, however my concern is the quality standards set for their donor vials. How can 7 vials not meet their standard 10 million motile. Also the motility has been very low as well, not the 35% stayed. I've used two donors, both with low counts. Anyone else having this issue over and over?

My 1st order (2 vials). Didn't meet dr standards. And was refunded. My 2nd (2 more) order vial #3 I got pregnant ! Carried for 9
Weeks then miscarried. Yesterday used #4. Meet standards again. Waiting to do blood work in 2 weeks. -
Fairfax has been the best facility my wife and I have tried compared to California and New England Cyro. It did take us 9 tries, however, we found out my wife has a blocked tube in the process. Wishing you the best!

I've used 3 different vials 2 different donors. My clinic demands unwashed sperm 2 of my vials BARLEY made the cut post thaw & post wash they were 3.4 & 4.3 million REALLY low! My last iui the vial was 7.2 mil on thaw & 2.7 post wash I am in the process of getting a refund. I have one vial left if the counts are low I'm switching banks. I keep reading other people getting counts of 20 mil or higher! But after 4 tries I will need a switch. Best of luck

Hi Ladylove,
Please forgive me
As I am new and just
Purchased w iui prob happening around 7/7.
Do they tell you the sperm count before iui (after thaw)? This was one thing my doctor didn't go over- the possibility that the sperm could be low.
Just worried my donor is new w. No reported pregs.
Thank you! Good luck to you! -

My dr did go over all the numbers after thaw with me. And if they don't meet standard it and dr thinks it is worth the try. Still do it. My 1 st didn't work and I received a refund. -
Thank you! I appreciate all the info!

You have to request the counts after thaw. If they are under 10mil for IUI and 20mil for ICI you can call Fairfax for a refund after you have a negative pregnancy test.

My count was 15.6 million for an IUI
-
What what donor?
-
My first IUI my sperm count was 23 million.
-
I used 4538
-
I had my IUI last week and count was 11mil with 57% motility. Praying to the heavens I get a BFP
-
That sounds great. Good luck!

My first 2 vials were around 30 million and I got 2 negatives. My 3rd was around 7 million and I now have a baby boy. My doctor said such high count is usually abnormal. I'm not complaining because it worked for me. Best of luck to you!

This last IUI (currently in the TWW) our numbers changed drastically. From 6 million to 37 million! Hoping it's a good batch!

Wow! What a difference! Good luck!!

What was the result of your iui? Still have fingers crossed for you

Ladylove&babydust what donor did you use this time? Glad your numbers were good!!

Melissa33....I am now using donor 1966, complete opposit of 4570. Good numbers twice now. Last cycle I got pregnant but it didn't stick, 8dpo today and hoping for sticky bean!

I got pregnant but it didn't stick.

Sorry it didn't stick. Hopefully this time it will
. I just had IUI #6 today. 3rd with 4570. Numbers were good. Like 29 mill.

Our numbers this try were better than the last two. We just did our 4th IUI, this was the first with meds and we did piggy back IUI's. Our two samples this try were 14.9 mil and 18.9 mil I believe. I had seven eggs to work with after 5 days of clomid. Here is hoping for everyone. Ladylove, I didn't realize with low numbers below 10 mil that Fairfax would refund. That is good to know as we had a sample last month that had 11 mil. How many days past your IUI are you now? I had mine done Wed and Thursday.

Poto3005 what donor are you using?

The thing which is encouraging that forget the actual sperm count and think that you have good chance of getting pregnant with IUI. Only one is needed but at right time and healthiest among all and placed or hit the right place.
But I think now days doctor advice to ICSI or IMSI to make such treatments IVF or IUI more effective and successful.
