ID Option or Anonymous Donor?

breezybreezy Junior Member Junior Member
I am torn as to whether to go with an ID Option or an Anonymous Donor. I am thinking if I were the child I would want to know at some point in my life who the donor was, but I can see the pros and cons with both. How are other people are making their decision?

Hello! I felt the same as you. I really only found 1 donor I liked so I just went with my gut. He is anonymous.

I had the same problem when selecting a donor. However I decided not to select that as part of the criteria. I ended up having two top choices, one was anonymous and one was a Fairfax Graduate. I went with the anonymous donor the first time, however for my second try I've decided to go with my second choice as he has reported pregnancies and my first choice still does not. Since this is all coming out of pocket for me I'm trying to give myself a better chance at conceiving.

I didn't let it be a factor for us. We found everything we wanted in a donor and he happened to be an id donor, but that isn't why we chose him.
