Question about Ovidrel

My Dr. said to wait two weeks after the shot before testing for BFP. I can't recall from our previosu child how long, but it seems like we were told it was out of system after 10 days.
How long should I wait?

2 full weeks (14 days). It is to insure a true positive/negative

I believe it is 10 days but I think everyone processes hormones differently. My wife is currently 20 weeks with our 3rd and she tested 2 days early and got a positive that was a true positive. It took us 9 tries this time around and she had taken preg tests early (9-11 days after ovidrel) the other 8 were all neg.

Did any of you notice shorter cycles after taking Ovidril? In the two cycles I've had IUI's my cycle was 2-3 days shorter and of course I'm super frustrated that I got my period...:(

Sorry to hear that you got your period. I've been trying for 13 months for my 2nd, and have had no luck so far. I HAVE noticed shorter cycles after taking the Ovidrel, yes. I wish you luck, when will you try again? -
Kbaby, i am sorry that you got your period. I am still waiting for mine after IUI#1 failed. The nurse said it will come within 3-5 days after i stop progesterone.
Now, in response to the original question ( i do realize it's from 2014, but i just wanted to let others know). Ovidrel (250 mcg) stayed in my system until day 12 post ovulation. Yes, day 12. I heard it was supposed to be gone by day 10. But I got a clear positive with Clearblu plus on day 12 with FMU. I had a feeling that the test was picking up Ovidrel. On 13dpo got a negative hpt, and on 14 it was confirmed with a blood test- beta of 2. I am only 112 pounds, so it took longer for it to clear out of my system.
