I am 38 and have an amh level of 5 so my doctor said they were going to put me on clomid before the iui. My friend who is 42 went on the injections with not even talking aabout clomid first. Are there many factors involved with choosing why one over the other. She also had a piggyback iui. My doc says they do just 1 well timed one. ANy thoughts?? different doctors different protocols maybe???

My first cycle was on clomid and it thinned my lining terribly; I didn't know this was a thing -- also, after a little googling there is some controversy over a high miscarriage rate from Clomid cycles (ask your doc). Second cycle was with injectables and was a success! It cost a lot more than the clomid cycle but in the long run with a quicker success rate we may have saved both money and time!
