I think we have finally chosen the donor we want to use and are about to get started. What do you prefer IUI or ICI and why? We are new to this and would really love, like everyone else, to be successful.

Hi brander. Best of luck to you! We did our first round of iui last month without success. Will be trying again next week. IUI passes the cervix so I believe there's a greater chance of pregnancy? However, the sperm is washed and prepared differently I believe too. Not too sure but am learning as we go. When will you be starting?

IUI has much better chances of success, statistically speaking. The cervix is a death trap for sperm (check out "The Great Sperm Race" on Youtube - I think something like only 1% of sperm make it through the cervix). ICI you can do yourself easily without a doctor, though, so some people prefer to do that in a more private setting where partner can participate. And it is possible to succeed with ICI. I did IUIs and it still took five tries...so with sperm being so expensive I'd suggest IUI personally. My Dr. did them for a base price of about 300 bucks, going up if you needed monitoring or Clomid/other drugs.

We had our 1st apt today and loved everyone there. We are going the IUI route

So exciting! When will you begin?

We are set to get going next month! I was really impressed with how wonderful the people were. I was worried about them being not so gay friendly because I did not want anyone "fake happy" for us if that makes sense. We will be using Ovidrel and Letrozole. Fingers crossed all goes as planned

We did IUI on the 7th and got our positive result a bit early on Monday after our third IUI. Hoping your tww wasn't too bad and you get some good news today
