Autism offspring reported

lmay1973lmay1973 Junior Member Junior Member
We have a beautiful, happy, and very sociable 20 month old baby girl. We recently received notification from Fairfax that our donor has had a report of an offspring diagnosed with autism. We purchased and stored several vials from said donor in hopes of having another full sibling to add to our family. Of course just days after making the decision that we were ready to start trying again, we received this notification. We have done all the research we can, but it is all so inconclusive. It seems that a sibling has about a 5-10% higher chance of having some type of autism than the general population. Has anyone dealt with a similar scenario? Any advice? It's such a small chance and yet we're not sure if we can go forward with this knowledge.
