New here, first IUI coming up

Hi!

My husband I are anxiously awaiting our first IUI, likely in about 2 weeks. It has been a long process to get us to this point. We spent almost 2 years trying to determine if he could be the biological father before making the determination that we would be better off pursuing pregnancy by way of a donor.

In our fertility journey, our specialists have assured me that everything looks good on my side. However, I'm 37 and overweight so I know that things won't be easy. With a teenager at home already (from my husband's previous marriage, before his health problems), we don't have a huge budget for this so I'm anxious about how this will go.

My doctor has been a great resource but I don't feel like I truly understand what the process looks like. I have a timeline, etc. but don't know people that I can talk to about the process. I keep searching for information online but haven't found what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have any recommendations for resources? Real-world experience that they can share? Tips? Etc?

Hi there, how did you IUI go? I really hope that it went well for you. I am glad that your labs look good because that's so important considering our age group. I am 36 and a bit concerned. everthing has always been good on my end too, but I just started seeing a new fertiltiy doctor and we are doing all the tests again. After dealing with a male factor infertility for 5 years, my husband and I have realized that it was not going to happen naturally, and we don't have budget for IVF. We will be pursuing IUI with a donor sperm. My family has been very supportive about this, but fertillity journey can still be an isolating experience...Use PM feature if you would like to talk.
