Beneficial to take a month off between IUI's??

I was wondering if anybody knows if it's beneficial to take a month off between IUI's, to sort of give your body a rest? I really don't want to wait until June, but if it's worth it, I will. I plan to talk to the doctor about this, but was wondering if any of you have personal experience with waiting.

For my son we did one IUI in 2013 and it was successful on the first try. This time around, we tried in July 2015, September 2015, March 2016 & April 2016, all unsuccessful.... 3 of the 4 were medicated. Specifically, this month I was on Femara (produced 1 mature follicle, measuring 25.4mm), Ovidrel trigger and Endometrin.

Thoughts?

I've done 3 IUI with medication were unfortunately unsuccessful. I began December 5, 2015 with the first IUI and after a month without the success of insemination they put a month off because I had a cyst too big because of the medication I had taken and I was told that it was normal and I should not worry. today I went convinced that it can finally begin with IVF this month but it was too expensive and had to leave due to financial problems now tried again in May with 4 IUI with medication. we hope well😞

Hi Joe (that's my son's name, how ironic!)- we decided to move forward this month as well (cycle buddies!). When did you have your IUI? I'm currently on day 6 of my cycle, and started Gonal-f on Sunday evening. I had the same dosage of 300iu the past three nights and went in for bloodwork this AM... so I'll have an update later today as to what the next step is. What medications were you on? I hope this IUI is the sticker for you <3

    Hi JDumanz44
basically I have to wait I get the periods this month and then continue with IUI. last month I did the IUI medicated with gonal pen injections, injections of Ovidrel and am using vitamins, and bomocriptine from December 2015.
My first IUI Was medicated and I used the clomid and one injection of ovidrel unfortunately it was not successful. I am 23 years and my husband 30.the doctor told me that I am in good health I have just to stay quiet, because it depends on the physical of the woman if the insemination fails on the first try, or in 4-5. I have never smoked or drank alcohol.
so this month I will have my fourth attempt at insemination with medications. Hope well this time .

    Hey Joe,

How did you respond with the gonal-f? I went in today for my CD8 ultrasound and my left ovary never really does much :( I had either 3 or 4 follicles on my right, the nurse couldn't really tell... she thinks that there is a small one squished between the other two, but much smaller. That said, I am hoping that the three good ones grow together and mature to ovulation. They all looked similar in size, but it was hard to tell because of that squished one. The one hanging out below those three was measuring at about 15mm today... so I hope that's okay. She said everything looks good but that the doctor is going to look it all over and I have to call back later for instructions. I'm a little concerned because I only have 550iu left of the gonal and the first three days I had 300iu, then down to 200iu for a day and then 150iu last night. We'll see. How did you respond to the Clomid? I have never been on that, only Femara and Gonal-f.

Hi jDumanzz44 , the first iui with clomid 50 ml I did it went well and I was up to 15 eggs, in fact, the ultrasound was great. the day before the insemination, I went to the doctor in the morning and gave me a Ovidrel dose. after two weeks I went for a pregnancy test and was negative, the doctor remained displaced because they were sure that I'd got pregnant on the first try. I went for the second IUI but the doctor put a month off because I had a cyst and it was better to try again the following month. I waited as long as they told me and I went back 😞 I started the second IUI with the same medications but it went wrong 😢, in the third IUI I changed and I used gonal 300iu and 50 ml of HCG and the day before the insemination I did a Ovidrel injection. the eggs were 9 and an egg on the left was 24.56 mm large. Unfortunately it went wrong this too, 😭so I'm waiting to do the fourth IUI .
    Good luck to all!!!
