Hello,

I am thinking on the IUI I am single 40 yo and think i'm ready for this. I am just a bit afraid as its not the tipical way to start a family and I feel that if I dont do it now it will not happen, at least I have to try.

Any advices from anyone?

Hey... although I am not in the same situation, I think you should go for it. If you have dreams of having a child, I wouldn't worry about what outsiders think. I actually give you a ton of credit! Good luck <3

Yola, dont worry. I'm 36 years and I'm single too.
I always dreamed of being a mother, but time passed and I did not want to wait. I live in Brazil and here is my choice and still controversial. But I knew what I wanted and did not give up my dream. My family accepted very well especially after they saw my daughter in the first ultrasound.
My little princess was born four months ago, in March, and today when I look at her all my doubts disappear. The important thing is that I had the support of my family. The opinion of others does not interest me.
Well, that was my experience. I hope I've helped.

This forum is helpful but I got a lot of support from the single mothers by choice website forum when I was TTC. They have a lot of discussions about reasons to go down this path or not, and it is much more active than this forum. That said, I am a single mother by choice I had my son twenty months ago. He is great and i want to have another one!
