First IUI cycle coming up and I'm nervous!

Hi everyone,
I am new to this process of IUI and medications, and am feeling a bit nervous going into my first cycle. We tried home insemination a couple of years ago, but didn't get pregnant. Then I had all kinds of health and work issues, so we put everything on hold. Now I'm all healthy again and have a stable job with benefits, so we are back at it, but doing things a little differently. Since I'm 39 1/2, I am eager to get pregnant while I still can, but also cautious about the risks and possibility of not being able to get pregnant before my body decides that shop is closed.
Right now, I'm waiting for AF so we can get started. I'll be doing clomid 100mg CD3-7 and ovidrel trigger on CD 11 or 12, then IUI 36 hours later. We picked donor 4414, as he has some physical characteristics similar to my wife's. I'm curious how the process has gone for others, and nervous about feeling like crap when I start the meds.
I'd love to know if others have had success with low ovarian reserve at "advanced maternal age" and how long it took (how many cycles). Baby dust to everyone who's TTC!

We are also looking at this donor has anyone got pregnant with using donor 4414, any information would be helpful.

Hi! My one advice with clomid is to not expect the same side effects if you have to do more than one cycle. My first cycle I was totally fine, had one follicle and didn't get pregnant. Second clomid cycle (same dose) was awful! Splitting headaches and made me really hormonal. I was super anxious/emotional. However - I had two follicles and ended up pregnant with a singleton so it was worth it!
. Good luck!

Hi Shylock, I'm in the same boat. I'm 38 and doing my first round of IUI this month. My doctor said no medications for at least 6 rounds, which is stressful, but I'm hoping he knows best.
How did yours go? -
No medication for 6 rounds sounds very conservative - I would be interested to know his reasoning if I were you.BandAMoms2B wrote: »Hi Shylock, I'm in the same boat.
