Ordering Vials?

Hi all, I am doing my first IUI in late September.
I am planning on ordering several vials because my doctor does back to back IUIs - yikes, is it expensive!
Wondering if its better to call when ordering, or to do the ordering online, and how long it takes for the orders to arrive?
Thanks!

Since you're new I'd recommend calling the customer service line to place your order, they're very helpful. I believe there are several options for delivery in terms of how quickly you need it but standard is 2-day delivery. I ordered my weeks ago to have it all ready at my clinic for when I was ready to start. Also, you'll learn a lot by taking some time to read some of the threads that are out there. The process is pretty easy but give yourself the time to do so. To get your ducks in order.

Thank you sheannca for your response. Question for you - what do you mean to read the threads? Do you mean on here? I have been reading them :) How many vials did you order at first? Trying to get an idea of this process..
I called this evening - was on "wait" for 35 minutes! I guess they are very busy!

Yes, on the family forum. A lot of my questions were answered by just spending some time reading through the various conversation threads. I ordered two vials as suggested by my Physician. I was originally planning to purchase 3, but my Physician said to not do more than 2 at a time. It seems that others ladies on here were told the same, to start with 2. Once the vials leave Fairfax they won't take them back, which, is understandable. I also thought, perhaps my physician is fairly confident it'd work within 2 tries, but of course there are no guarantees. In the end you do what's right for you.

In terms of calling this evening, I'm surprised you had to wait. I've never waited. Perhaps they were closed on labor day. I could see how that would spark an influx in calls especially at the end of the day. Try call earlier if you're able to. They are super helpful, trust me.

Hi Sheryl-Thank you so much for all of this information.
I had my first IUI today - not really expecting much but I was braver than I thought - One of my single friends who had a successful IUI told me the speculum was awful! I found it to be uncomfortable but not unbearable - I think the buildup to the anxiety about it all was worse than the actual procedure!
    Thanks again for your assistance.

Excellent! I wish you luck that this try is all that it will take.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I yet to do my first round, but I like enjoy hearing about other's experience.

    Good luck!

Sheannca, you will do great! When will your first round be? I did back to back (had my second today) - I am older, so not really expecting much :( Looked at this as practice - I figure I will be doing 5-6 and if they dont work, might have to move onto IVF :(

Waited40, stay positive. It can happen in the first try. I really believe in positive thinking. So, don't think that there will be 5-6 cycles, think, "this is the one."

I start my IUI cycle this Friday with the U.S. If all goes well then the IUI should happen around the 9th. Last month was supposed to be my first attempt; however, I developed a cyst on one of my ovaries, which, is very common but frustrating. Sometimes it occurs with the fertility meds., but I didn't get that far. I've been taking a lot of supplements so many my body was getting used to them. Anyhow, it has to go away naturally, so, hoping it has.

sheannca - I am so excited for you! Good luck with your first cycle - I am sorry to hear about your cyst :( That is so scary - it really scares me to know that can happen. It sounds like you are moving forward though so I will keep you in my thoughts. Where are you from? I hope your body heals and that you are in a healthy state to move forward with this process.
I understand positive thinking - But I also know the odds are stacked against me because of my age and success rates of IUI are not as good. I am trying to think positively but it is very hard!

Thank you Waited40! I'm in Wisconsin. If it makes you feel any better it seems a lot of women here sharing their ages are in their late 30s / early 40s. I myself am 39 1/2. By the way, just confirmed today that the cyst is no longer. I've officially started my IUI cycle.
