IUIs too early?

I am now in my fourth IUI. Very depressing
Anyways, I know I am no expert, but I feel like I am triggering way too early every time. Today is CD10 and they are having me trigger tonight for IUI tomorrow. I took Follistim for the first time (clomid the other three IUIs). I keep reading about people who have the IUI on CD16 or 15....or trigger those days.
Can everyone share with me what they have done?
I am hoping this is the one.
This process has been really draining on me....the first time I took Clomid, I woke up in puddles of sweats..for the second IUI no side effects..third IUI no side effects...Follistim has made me an emotional hot mess

Typically, how long are your cycles? What size are the follicle(s) when they tell you to trigger?

Cycles are typically 26-27 days. Follicles are typically 16-18 and only one or two. They tell me to trigger usually the day before my IUI. Can you share your experience? Thanks!

I used Clomid (no side effects) and on day 12 of my cycle I went in for a sonogram. I had a 20 and a 23 size follicle. I did the tigger shot at 8pm that night and went back for my IUI 36 hours later. 2ww now, but I believe it depends on your follicle size. My doctor mentioned the IUI is done around 36 hours after trigger because the egg usually releases between 24 to 48 hours.

isher: This is interesting because my clinic only does IUIs between 6 and 8 AM....and its one of the top clinics in the world. 20 and 23 is awfully big - good for you! I have never had one past 20 but I am older. Good luck to you! -
My follicles, minus once, were around 20mm+ before they triggered. I know that they want to let it mature as much as possible (without allowing you to ovulate) in order to ensure there is a mature egg in there. For example, for my IVF retrieval, I had 12 eggs retrieved but only 8 of them were mature. Considering I had 8 follicles that were 20+, I’m wondering if those were the follicles with the mature eggs.
