I am so excited that this forum exists. I can't wait to hear from other parents with other children from my daughter's donor.

I'm excited as well. I haven't given birth to my child yet but I am very interested in finding out if there are other people out there who used the same donor as I did.

I am excited too! My daughter will be five years old in less than five weeks; I know there are half-siblings out there and would love a chance to reconnect!

There isn't much action around here. I do like having this forum but I am so anxious for the day I find my baby's half siblings. I'm working on rounding up other sources as well. If anyone has tips or ideas, I'd love to know about them.

CLI has an affiliated sperm bank, Fairfax Cryobank, that also has a forum about donor sperm. All requests for connecting with half sibilings of CLI donors will be located here on this forum, however, the Fairfax Cryobank Family forum has more general activity about using donor sperm.

Hi -
I noticed a few of you commenting that forums for donor #s are a great idea. But there is only one forum started for a donor #. I would imagine you will have better success in finding your childs half siblings if you let someone know what donor # you used. I intend to do that if the donor I choose does not already have a forum started.
I am a 37 year old single woman wanting a family. Ten years ago I was a biological suroggate. But now I want a family of my own.

Hello Carissa,
This area has donor forums for many CLI donors already, however, they are only visible to clients who have used sperm from that donor. People can send in a request to the Moderator to gain access. This way the forums are more private for the users to discuss information about their children. It is a great resource for updates on medical information as well. CLI hopes that clients will feel comfortable using our forum website as a donor sibling registry.
Hope that clears up some confusion on why the private sites seem so sparse. We hope you are enjoying the forum!

Thank you Moderator - It does help. Although in choosing a donor it might help to be able to talk to others who have used a donor you are very interested in. But I also completely understand the privacy and need for parents of children of a particular donor may discuss things that have nothing to do with the selection process.

How would we determine the donor number on the Fairfax site?

CLI Moderator

CLI and Fairfax Cryobank are affiliated sperm banks, but each bank has a separate catalog of donors. There is no cross over in donors, and CLI donors are not on the Fairfax Cryobank site under a different donor number.
Hopefully that clears up any confusion.
