what does value mean?

I have read the description of value but i dont quite understand what it means?

are all the same tests run on them? are they just cheaper because maybe the guy works fast food instead of being a lawyer?

please help im new to this and overwhelmed with how to pick my donor

Can you also tell me if I need to care what the blood type or rH factor are?

    Hi Kristy-

If a donor is a value donor, it represents a value priced category of semen that CLI uses to balance the inventories of certain donors. Summary profiles for each value donor may indicate tests that were not required and hence not performed at the time these donors were in the donor program. What that basically means is that at the time the donor was in the program he met all regulatory standards. Value donors may be missing something in their profile...for example, maybe he doesn't have a childhood picture. I have also found that the donor may have more vials available than others and CLI is trying to balance his inventory. All vials sold from Cryogenic Laboratories fully meet FDA requirements.

In regards to blood typing, I would check with your physician. There can be problems if you have a negative Rh factor and your baby has a positive Rh factor.

I hope that info helps some. Good luck choosing a donor!
