Hello
Hi:
I would very much like to connect with parents of other children by donor 2739 so I figured I would take the plunge and start. Our beautiful, miracle daughter is turning one on March 22nd and we are celebrating it with a big party for friends and family. After years of infertility struggles, she is the joy of our lives. The most active, curious and delightful little troublemaker, we love her to pieces. There are so many things we need to consider as she is getting older regarding the special way in which she was conceived, and I would love to exchange further thoughts with you. The fact that she has half-siblings might at some point be a comfort to her as she will have to come to terms with not knowing her biological father and I want to help her as much as possible with what surely will be an involved process for all of us.
I will leave it at this, please let me know if you would like to futher communicate. I very much look forward to hearing from you! Annemieke

We certainly are so very lucky! How wonderful that our daughter (Lauren) and yours are almost the same age -she also is our first child. We were also very disapointed to find out that the donor is no longer active. We actually have two vials left, but that is really not much considering how very long it took for our little miracle. I wonder if it is possible, since we are both really hoping for a sibling, to ask the lab to see if the donor would reconsider? I have no idea how this works, but perhaps it would be worth a try. I think it would be really good for Lauren to have a sibling who is biologically hers.
I am willing to share more information and have to admit I am very curious to see if our daughters look alike. Lauren has some of my features, but her beautiful blue eyes and very long eyelashes are her donor's. I would also be interested in talking to you about how you are handling some of the discussions that will be in our future or even some of the things that are happening right now (I had an aunt blurt out a totally inappropriate comment at a family reuinion) regarding her paternity.
Thank you and I look forward to "talking" to you further, Annemieke
Our daughter, Addison, does have some of my features (she really looks a lot like my 10 month picture) but we also see many features from him: very big blue eyes and long eye lashes also. It would be very interesting to see if they look alike.
We checked into getting the donor back but it would cost about $5,000 to get him to come back and donate (If he would even agree to). As much as we wanted him, we thought $5,000 was quite a bit, considering we went to IVF after IUI did not work after 8 attempts. With IVF you only need one vial which we had left over after Addison, but didn't keep it. We obviously weren't thinking ahead and are very disappointed about it today!!
We have also thought about handling different situations in the future-sorry you had an aunt make an inappropriate comment. That must have been very hurtful...I think there are just people out there who don't understand different situations, and say things without thinking. Are you willing to share what city you live in? We live in Minneapolis, MN. Thank you for getting back to us! Looking forward to talking to you soon.
Oh my gosh, you are totally describing Lauren's eyes! I love the name Addison, very cute! If the forum would let us, I would be happy to share my direct email with you. It might be easier to communicate - and perhaps share pictures - than through this Forum (we live in Milwaukee by the way so relatively close.) After you and I communicated on this forum, I contacted the lab as well and found out the same information about the fee (if the donor doesn't agree only $300 of that total amount is non-refundable so the risk is not totally huge). I wish there would be a way for us to perhaps share this cost. The donor, if he agrees, will "produce" many vials so why wouldn't that be possible? The lab might want to get the fee from both of us, but why should we pay a finder's fee etc. twice?? We did IUI and with this donor it worked the first time, but that was after I had a miscarriage with a different donor and the first 6 times with another donor were unsuccessful so I think on try 9 it worked (we tried IVF three times before that with my husband's sperm.) The paths we have traveled
You are right about my aunt's comment, she truly wasn't thinking and she didn't mean for her comment to be hurtful. In a way I was glad I heard it so I can start thinking about possible future situations that might come up.
I am going to post my office email at the end of this message, if the Forum doesn't like that they can remove it, but leave the rest of my message.
Looking forward to hearing from you! Annemieke

I am 6 months pregrant with Donor # 2739 and already know it is a girl. her estimated date of birth is November 3, 2011.
It is very interesting to ready you, as I am not used to be tell private things on-line. I would love to see some pictures of yout daughters.
I read quickly that you might be interested in having a sibling for your daughter from the same donor! I have purchased 2 donation and got pregnant on the first in-vitro. The 2nd donation is at my doctor, would be interested in getting it?
I am already a Mom of a 4.5 years old and now with my 2nd child; I am set for life!
Please reply to me and let me know.
I would love to hear from you both about Donor # 2739 and your daugthers. I live in Stamford, Connecticut and you?
I guess we are in the minority with a lovely *son* from donor #2739. Noah is a great blessing to us and is a very happy baby. He was born in May 2010 and we are in fertility treatments again right now with three vials remaining so hopefully we will have enough for a full blood sibling for him. We are in the Minneapolis area and would love to connect in some way with other half siblings. He has dark brown eyes like me (mommy) and wavy light brown hair (I have dark hair). What a neat place to meet all of you! We feel very blessed.
Congratulations on your son and I am keeping my fingers crossed for your treatments! Is the experience for you the same this second time around? For me it was less stressful, but still nerve wracking and I sometimes still can't quite comprehend that I am actually 24+ weeks pregnant right now with our second girl from donor 2739. I can't believe we got so lucky twice. Our almost 20 month old is a delight, going through a language explosion right now and starting to put sentences together and really communicating with us all day long. We just couldn't be more happy and thankful. One of the parents on this board is in the Minneapolis area and we aren't that terribly far away. Maybe at some point we could meet. Wishing you all the best, Annemieke
Yes my husband and I would be interested in getting together with other half sibling families the Minnesota/Wisconsin area.
I am so sorry for the late response! I am so happy to hear about your BFP and am really hoping that things are going very well. Perhaps at some point you would be willing to share your fertility road with me. Ours was about 5 years long before we finally had Lauren and I feel so incredibly fortunate to have gotten pregnant twice in a row. I have about 3 weeks to go before our second daughter arrives and can't wait to meet this little one. It will be a big adjustment for all of us, but it will make our family truly complete. Is your son a blondie like Lauren and LeeLee's daughter are with blue eyes? Lauren has a dimple in her chin which is her donor's, but otherwise she shares a lot of my characteristics as well.
Wishing you all the best and please share an update if you are able to, Annemieke
Blessings to all of you!!
Nura, Erik, Noah & baby Emilia (4 mos)
My name is Holly and I am reaching out to the group to inquire if anyone has any additional vials of #2739 that you would be willing to sell/donate. We have a 6 year old little boy who is precious and we are hoping to have a sibling. We have tried 3 times recently, but the count hasn't been great and so far no BFP's. I am down to my last two vials and with my age (39), I am very nervous. Actually meeting tomorrow to determine how best to use the last two vials.
We would be absolutely thrilled if anyone has additional samples.
Hope everyone is having a great start to 2016.
Thanks in advance for your help!
