Donor no longer active

Hi the donor we used for our son is no longer active. Has anyone else come across this? Any suggestions about trying to find the same donor? Has anyone used two different donors for their children?
Thanks.

Yes this happens. Sometimes they will have a wait list for that donor if there are still vials somewhere out there that could potentially be sold back.

Our first child was with one donor who went inactive. As I was getting ready to buy sperm for another he suddenly had some available. I could only afford two and luckly that did the trick. However should I want to have another child (which I do plan provided money is good in a few years) it will have to be a different donor. In the mean time I had bought a few vials from another donor that was the same situation. He wasnt active anymore but some were sold back, never used them and in turn sold them back for some other lucky person to snatch up.
