We've just bought an IVF vial. Anyone else? Any pregnancies? I know that as of last week there were no posted pregnancies yet.

Thanks~!

  • hello just curious of you conceived
  • Just did an IVF transfer on 22Aug. We'll know if we're pregnant just after the Labor Day holiday. We have 3 embryos, all female. Two were thawed and transfered (grade A post PGD-5 day) and we have one still sleeping frozen.

    Are you considering him?

  • i was but when i found out he only had 1-5 pregnancies i was concerned it could actually only be one! not sure how long he has been a donor though. ill be thinking about you keep me posted!
  • Ask CLI. They'll tell you if he's new or not. Because we were doing an IVF it was less important to us if he had other pregnancies posted or not. However, we bought our vial in March and not too much later he'd had a pregnancy posted. I wonder if he's not selected more often b/c he has such a strong accent with his English.
  • its funny you say that it was his accent that turned me off. i was reminding myself that my child will not have an accent! lol. i thought he sound really like uhhhh duhhhh. when he talked if that makes sense lol. however you know he has to be smart i think his entire family is doctors and isnt he a plastic surgeon too? i dont think he is that new because i saw him a year ago when i first started looking. he really is a handsome little boy. i am leaning a different direction now though. the donor i am looking at now also only has 1-5 pregnancies. and he has only been a donor since april 2011. so i think thats probably a good thing that it didnt take him like a year to get someone pregnant! lol
  • Exactly, he doesn't sound so verbose, but when you remember that he's having to translate everything into a language that is not his first language AND as Serbia was a Soviet-Block country, he didnt grow up with opportunities to learn English as a second language in school. So when that realization hits and to think that he has to be intelligent to be a ESL as a student in med school, he HAS to be really smart. So lucky for me. I think I'm happier in retrospect with someone who will not be the genetic donor for a huge number of children. I know there is a limit 20?- 25?
  • ok so i did go the other route that i was looking toward in the last message. I really like this donor he is so handsome but i found out that hie 1-5 pregnancies is in a 6 year time span. thats a long time for that little pregnancies. i agree i dont want there to be 25 siblings but i have to also go with my gut. if i were doing IVF like you i probably wouldnt have been as concerned. good luck to you!!!
