Too Early?

My doctor did the iui procedure in office the evening before my calculated ovulation date. I checked ovulation strips daily and finally got the little happy face about 50 hours after insemination. Did we do it too soon?

Of course you won't know for sure...but for me, we inseminated right after we got the positive on the OPK. I got pregnant twice that way but this time around the OPKs were not working at all--literally not showing a surge even though I was definitely ovulating. I heard from my doctor and the nurses that some women can use them successfully and some cannot. Not sure what makes the difference...
Now I am on to more in depth monitoring (blood test and an ultrasound) to try and get it right. Only have two vials left of our child's donor so...we'd like to get pregnant soon!
    Good luck.

Where you using fresh or frozen sperm? The fresh could last that long but I thought frozen does not. I always went the day after my first positive OPK test.

In the clinic I went to we were told to test in the morning and if we got the happy face the insemination would happen around 11 am. Lots of things I've read say that this is too early - should be 24 to 36 hours later - but this worked for us on the second try!
What else are you using for timing if not the ovulation tests? Charting, temp., cervical mucus, ultrasound? How did you calculate your ovulation date?

Hey, it's been two weeks, maybe you're already pregnant. Hope so!
