Help with Dr. or Clinic??

Hi! We are going to talk to my GYN in a couple weeks for my yearly and ask about starting IUI & such to start making babies! They no longer do IUI at there general OBGYN office.
So, I was wondering if any one had any pointers on questions to ask the my GYN about my next step(s), recommended tests, or blood work? And what questions should we be asking about or at possible clinics & Dr's that we might going to for treatment?
Nervous about finding the right Dr/Clinic, I want experienced, knowledgeable, gay friendly, fairly local & caring Dr/clinic... But I also want to pay a fair price for services. :?
We are in N.E. Mass/ Greater Boston/ S. NH area. Anyone give me an idea of costs for IUI in this or your area?

Depending on your age, they may not do too many tests. We tried at home several times and I was 36 when we started. But I had blood work done to test hormone levels and ovarian reserve. You can have follical ultrasounds and hysterosalpingogram to check for blockages. We live in south central PA and were very lucky to have an office that did not have any issues with us as a couple. I had to pay $150.00 for for two IUIs but then my insurance picked it up. We are going to a fertility clinic right now because I only have two tries left with the same donor and insurance won't pick up the additional treatment through the clinic because they won't deem me infertile until we try 6 times. They did pay for the meds thought. The clinic charges $1600.00 for the first cycle and that includes all the ultrasounds, testing, and IUI. The second cycle is $1200.00. There is another hospital in the area that charges $3000.00 for the assisted IUI.
Thanks for the information. It sounds like there may be great differences in the cost depending on the clinic or hospital. I guess we will have to compare prices at a couple locations. I'm 31, with regular cycles so, hopefully they won't need to do a lot of extra testing. In Mass, insurance companies are not required to pay for fertility treatment until you have been 'try' for 12 months. I'm unsure if they will pay for meds, or "pre" blood work or testing. I guess I have a few questions to ask the Doctors/Clinics and Insurance company!
Thanks for sharing.
It really shouldnt' be this challenging for same sex couples to start a family.
