We tried our first IUI on me in late October! I am now eight weeks pregnant and as sick as can be with morning sickness! Without a doubt, the key for me was to remain as stress free as possible. I had a massage the day before the IUI. That two week wait is killer! Best of luck!

Good luck to you!!!
My wife and I also had our first insemination on Nov. 16th. I went for my pregnancy test this morning, but unfortunately before we even received the results, I got my periodAnd as you might have guessed, the results: Negativo! Hope yours is Positive...
We also live in NJ, have been together for a little over 7 years and I'm going to be 34 in a couple weeks.
Keep us posted.

Aneta,
Eh, same here, negative this time. Ah well. Where in NJ are you? We are in North Arlington (near the meadowlands). We're thinking of changing our dr for our next try. The lady we are going to now is out of network, so even though we only have to pay 20%, that plus the full cost of IUI (which as you know insurance won't cover for same sex couples  )and sperm, it's really adding up!! There's a place not to far from us that are in network and a few friends of mine have gone to, so I think we'll wait a few weeks, regroup, and try again. Of course just as we are taking on this huge venture, my CAR dies. I was hoping it would live another year or so, but a blown head gasket later, and I had to get a new car. haha When it rains it pours. So saving every penny is a priority right now since our emergency fund had to take a big hit.

Wow, congratulations! -
Thanks Janet! We are very excited! I failed to say that we tried on my partner for three years using IUI and IVF. It was very costly emotionally, financially and physically. And, has been quite a journey. We took some time off. Switched doctors. Decided to use the "back-up uterus" and it worked!

awww, so sorry to hear that...
I know what you mean about the expense , it all really does add up. Since my gyno doesn't do it, she gave us the idea to go to a fertility place. We live in Union and I found one at St. Barnabas Hospital, so not too far. I'm glad we went there, because they checked me out with lots of blood tests before I started and found out that one of my tubes is blocked. The month before I couldn't be inseminated because of that and not sure if going through this at regular drs office I would've found that out. I just didn't like how they tried to push fertility drugs on me from the beginning. I definitely want to try all natural first.
Glad to hear that someone here actually was successful the first time around, it gives hope that this might not have to be a really long process. Let's hope I can be so lucky soon:)
