What kind of responses or reactions have others had when you tell them you used donor sperm to conceive your children?
Any funny reactions? How do you respond to any negative comments?

Everyone I've told (which is everyone I talk to :-) has been VERY supportive! On April 19th 2008 I actually had a "Pick a Peter" party in lieu of a bachelorette! My friends suggested it and two of my college friends actually flew out to surprise me and attend! It was HILARIOUS! I live in KY so the theme was the Kentucky Derby! My friend made a 'score' board and we used medical history, looks, staff impressions, etc. as topics for people to vote on! Of course we did the voting after consuming several adult beverages and playing other 'pick a peter' themed games. Obviously my donor selection did not result from this party (phew!) but it was a great way to celebrate with my closest friends and family! I will say that by telling people the truth about using donor sperm to conceive, gave them an opportunity to ask additional questions, some of which I hadn't even considered myself, which pushes you to do more research and confirmed for me that I was sure I was making the right decision. My son is going to be one this month and there is not a second that goes by that I have ever regretted the decision!

No negative & absolutley no funny reactions from others. In fact, many have thought it was wonderful and brave thing to do. Some gals have even expressed going the same route, or would have if they did not find a mate.
