Our story is very similar to many couples who have delt with infertility.... My husband and I had been married for 6 years prior to the birth of our first son, with the aid of donor 1880...we started out with 4 rounds of IUI with no success, 3 cycles of ivf using my husband's semen..again without success....we decided to try using a donor, (ivf #4) our first attempt with another donor was unsuccessful resulting in no embryo for transfer which was utterly devastating
.
We decided to take some time off from IVF to recoup mentally and emotionally.... Then in 2007 started the cycle (#5) again and choosing a new donor (1880) which resulted 12 embies.....2 were transfered on d/5, and 7 day 6 blast was stored for later use. Of the two that were transfered on day 5...resulted in one beautiful baby boy
. I immediately went in severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome...Fluid from my ovarian space leaked into my abdominal cavity s/sx shortness of breath due to the increase fluid, severe abdominal ascities... giving the appearance of gestation at 6 or 7 months rather than a first trimester pregnancy... treatment for this!! transvaginal taps weekly... to the point were a temporary drain was inserted into my abdomin... this lasted for the entire first trimester.... symptoms began subsiding during the start of the 2nd trimester... which began to start to feel like a normal pregnancy...Thank God!!! Having our boy made all the suffering worthwhile...
We went back again to try for a sibling our beloved son.... 2 frozen were transfered and both took!!
... resulting in a boy and a girl born feb 11, 2010.
Increasing our family size from 2 to 5 within a span of 2 years... Our children are such a blessing, We are ever so greatful for our miracle children. Thanks again donor 1880.
