Dont know if it is or not, but I went to my regular doc before I started this process just to get a health check and current on shots. She told me along with pre natal vits to take D and fish oil and to start then. That was back in Dec. I am starting my 2nd cycle this month.

Not sure what the dosage is, one pill of whatever mg it is.
The first cycle didnt take then I had to skip a cycle because of cysts. I am back on track and start clomid again tommorow for this round. -

Research by the NIH cites that the minimum daily intake for pregnant women is 600 IU however there is another study that looked at Vit D levels of 400 IU, 2000 IU, and 4000 IU. That concluded that moms that took 4000 were less likely to have complications such as preeclampsia and gestinatal diabetes. Additionally, there were no adverse reactions to the mega dose.
It difficult to get Vit D, most foods are fortified such as milk, cereal, and yogurt. Good sources are salmon, tuna, sardines, fish oils and of course the SUN is the best way to get Vit D. Make sure the fish is on the OK list to consume while preggo or TTC.
Also calcium supplements should be atleast 1000-1200 mg daily (no more than 500mg each dose).
Vit D and calcium go hand in hand. Hope this helps. Good luck!
