HSA accounts and paying for donor sperm

My partner and I are conducting our first insemination in three weeks, and are planning the pick up and ordering we need to do.
She has Anthem healthcare and through them an HSA account- we have checked the IRS website outlining eligible expenses and cannot find donor sperm specimens clearly listed. They mention sperm storage fees being potentially covered. Has anyone else used an HSA to pay for donor sperm?
Does anyone know a phone number we could call to confirm eligibility?
Thanks for all your support and help!

    Hello Leonasluv,
I used my HSA to pay for the ultrasound, trigger, and IUI. So it came in pretty handy. Since the IUI cost 350. So over a thousand dollars each attempt. As far as purchasing the sperm. Im not sure, Sorry.I don't think so. Im thinking it's like going to IVF. After the doctor classifies somebody as having problems with fertility(say after year of trying ) then insurance may help pay. I would love to know though. So if you do find out anything. Please let us know. Thanks, and good luck!

I have HMO Humana and have the Benny Card through TriStar Systems, which is my medical savings plan through payroll deductions. My elective for 2011 was $4000 and so $150+ is pulled from every paycheck/pay period. I did ask the representative at the benefits fair if donor sperm was covered and she said yes. I did use my Benny card which has a mastercard logo on it for my donor sperm purchase. I did get audited though, which I knew was going to happen, so I had Fairfax e-mail me an official itemized statement. I sent it in and everything was fine. Call the #800 on the back of your card and call. They should be able to tell you. Good luck! :D
