My partner and I picked donor 4034....we have our first IUI Thursday March 3rd at 12...I do the trigger shot at 1 am tonight....anyone use or planning to use donor 4034?? We are sooo nervous and we only have one follicle because my other ovary has a cyst now (we think from the clomid) but we are going through with the IUI anyways bc our doctor had us order the sperm before we knew all this so we dont want to send it back or waste it....so we are keep our fingers crossed...anyone get pregnant with only one follicle

If it were me, I would send the sperm back and have them store it until next cycle. My first cycle I had 2, with a negative result. This cycle I had 4. I have been testing positive everyday since day 10 of my cycle, today is 12.
Even though its shipped, it stays froze for 5 or so days. You can send it back and store it, just cant sell it back. -
well it will cost us about 450 dollars to send it back store it and resend it again so thats why we are going ahead with it...im sure it wont work but we are hopefullybluesky10 wrote:If it were me, I would send the sperm back and have them store it until next cycle. It depends on how far it has to travel. Mine is in the same state and not even an hour from my clinic so I order it the day I do the trigger shot and have it arrive the next day so its ready for the IUI the next day. They dont thaw it until they physically see me in the clinic in the room for the IUI.
Also they seldom do work on the first try. -
i wish mine was that close so I could do that....im In PA but it doesnt seem like it would take too long...im not sure when they thaw mine i didnt ask...i dont know what i should do for next time but i would really rather have 3 to 5 follicles next time instead of 1 and a cyst =( I know most times it takes a few tries but i was really hoping it worked the first trybluesky10 wrote:It depends on how far it has to travel. My husband and I also chose donor 4034 with our first IUI in 2 weeks. My doctor's office stores specimens on site, so there is no problem waiting for the next cycle if neded. I hope everything works out for you

I also plan to use donor 4034, cute baby picture! I'm so glad you posted the chain of events because I too am wondering how to do all of this with perfect timing. The funds are very limited and I hope to do home inseminations and I'm not sure why I need a physician if I do this at home. I will obviously follow up with OBGYN when pregnant but I hope to wait to get MD's involved...we live in a rural area and the lack of open-mindedness is deafening. Looks like the trick is figuring out the date of ovualtion one week in advance to order the specimen then thaw it???

We used this donor 2 times and was unsuccessful so we are now looking into other donors...The reason you need a doctor is so that you know what you're doing. I have read some posts of some people trying to do ICI at home and ended up actually doing the IUI themselves accidentally and them being in severe pain because of infection. So do find a doctor so you know what you're doing. Yes you would need to figure out when you "normally" ovulate but sperm doesnt have to be sent a week in advance you can overnight it for a little more money or you can get a 2 week tank if you want to have it in advance.MorningView wrote:I also plan to use donor 4034, cute baby picture!
