My partner and I are eager to start a family. We are in Virginia and know a lot about what needs to happen; however we are not sure where to start. I found this website and gained some hope into the matter. We have tried other routes but felt it wasn't best. I guess what we are wondering is what is the best way to get going with procedures and if anyone knows of places in VA to help us out?

What part of VA are you in? There is a fertility clinic in Charlottesville that is very good. REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE AND SURGERY CENTER OF VIRINIA at Martha Jefferson Hospital. My partner and I have been going there and they are very helpful. I felt lost but after meeting with the doctor she guided us through each step of the process. The entire staff is friendly and we never felt like we were treated different for being a lesbian couple. THey also help you with insurance questions and self pay etc.

I am in Petersburg but I know the Charlottesville area. Did you go there first? I'm trying to figure out what our first steps should be so we do this the right way, I know how stressful all the procedures could be so I want to try handle all the logistics first.

Started out at regular gyn. Reported irregular periods and he recommended fertility specialist. Don't think he wanted a lesbian case either. We live in Lynchburg. Not very open minded he said this clinic in cville had more experience with "our situation"

Seems like we are in the same boat. I go the specialist on the 21st so I'll take it from there. I'll also be contacting the place in Charlottesville. Good luck to you both and thanks!

Hello. My wife and I are also from Richmond. We used Dr. Gianfortoni at Lifesource fertility center but when we got pregnant I believe it was Dr. Rosenberg who did the insemination that day! I ovulated on a weekend and he was the Dr. on call. -

Hello, from Richmond here. How did everything go with your appointment? We used Lifesource Fertility Center here and had twin boys in May of this year.
