folic acid increases chances of twins...

have any of you heard this? my Dr put me on 5mg of folic acid plus i take 1mg with my prenatal and i decided to research to see what others are doing and came across several sites talking about the link between folic acid over recommended dosage and ivf with 53% chances of having twins. i am not sure why just thought it was interesting...anyone else hear this?

Is this true?! I am having to take a much higher than normal amount of folic acid right now because I am on a seizure medication that can increase the risk of spina bifida. I haven't had a seizure in several months, but better safe than sorry, in my opinion. My gyno recently suggested that I start taking vitamins and extra folic acid before I get pregnant, so it is built up in my system for when I start the insemination process next year.

Do you have a link to this information, so I can show it to my gyno? Thanks!
