How to up your chances w/ IUI

Looking around for ways to up your chances of success with IUI. Of course I've seen the standards:
- eat healthy
- get rest
- de-stress
- drink lots of fluids
But here's an interesting one... Anyone else have any other odd tips they've found?
From ezinearticles.com:
Cough syrup for IUI? That's right. This is a good step to take, especially if you're taking Clomid during an IUI cycle. Clomid - and some natural conditions - can cause cervical mucus to become thick and too hostile to allow sperm to survive. Cough syrup like Robitussin doesn't just thin out mucus in the lungs, but it can also thin out cervical mucus.
The dosage that you should take varies, but you will want to take a little bit of cough syrup with the active ingredient guaifenesin for a couple of days before your insemination is going to occur. Many women with hostile cervical mucus have had excellent luck with this simple fertility-enhancing step.

If you are haveing an IUI the CM doesnt matter as it doesnt come into play.

I agree with Bluesky. When you're doing IUI you're already bypassing the CM so no need to try and thin it out. I am doing accupuncture and love it. I had my second session today. It really gets your juices flowing. I'll be doing it all the way up to my IUI next month and then 3 days after the procedure. You have to go to one that does it for fertility as not all of them are the same. Good luck to you!

Where do you go for the accupuncture and how much does it cost?
I am very interested in that idea but would love some details.
Thanks!!!! -
I live in Las Vegas and see Dr. Sharon Roth. My RE recommended her when I asked about it. My first visit was $150 and I am going once per week for $100 each visit. My insurance doesn't cover it but I have some money in a flexible spending account that will. She is also doing some massage therapy which she will get to bill my insurance for that they will pay. I have never drank so much water in my life but it makes me really thirsty but gives me serious energy that I absolutely love. Last night she did some for my allergies (my head was completely congested) and this morning I noticed I hadn't taken any bendadryl last night and I also had not blown my nose one time. My head was completely open! When you look for someone look for someone who does accupuncture for fertility and make sure you feel comfortable with them. My neighbor was having problems conceiving and was on her way to start injections but decided the accupuncture route and was pregnant within 2 cycles without the injections. She swears by it. I am doing injections this time because of my age (39) but my first 2 IUIs were all natural with no meds. Crossing my fingers this time though!

Amusing thing with acupuncture...
when I was still on the pill I was participating in a study of acupuncture for treating migraines. Well, despite the birth control I was spotting every week and thought something was haywire in my body. Researching and talking to a doctor, then mentioning it to the acupuncturist I found you that some of the points they were using are also noted as points to help/boost fertility! Needless to say, I believe it could be helpful.
