Hello,

Does anyone have info on this donor? Any successful pregnancies? Has he resulted in boys or girls? Any information that anyone has on this donor would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We only tried him one time, but will most likely try again with him.

I'm interested in this donor too. I used donor 4037 for the first four IUI tries, and am deciding on a new donor for the next try.
  • hopefulcharhopefulchar Senior Member Senior Member
What were the counts like for 4037
  • floridagirlfloridagirl Junior Member Junior Member
I bought IUI vials and the doctor's office said the counts were fine. First 3 vials were 10-11 million, but the nurse told me before both IUI procedures that they had stopped counting at 11 million. I think the 4th one was around 18 million and the last two were both over 20 million.

I just had my first IUI yesterday using this donor and his count was 20 million. Then I had my second today and his count has 15 million. Fingers crossed. I would love to hear from anyone who has had a successful pregnancy.

My son was born on May 8, 2011 at 32 weeks and 6 days using donoro 4009. He is doing well and has overcome most of his preemie issues. He has blond hair and blue eyes, something he certainly doesn't get from his brown eyes, brown haired mommy! I am a single mom. Good luck to everyone with this donor. Hope you have as much success as me!

Congratulations, Jess. :D We are going to go for try #3 with this donor at the end of this month. Did you look at any of his photos?
  • jess237jess237 Junior Member Junior Member
Thanks Janet. Yes, I bought the lifetime photos. So glad I did so both of us would know what he looks like. Good luck!
  • JanetJanet Member Member
we're going to wait on buying the lifetime photos until we get a pregnancy... just in case we need to switch donors... I don't wanna get too attached. It doesn't really matter to us if he's great looking. haha I'm an art teacher and my partner is a writer/english teacher, so we were drawn to 4009 because he seemed like a creative soul.

I don't blame you for waiting. I had narrowed it down to two donors and had ordered both of their pictures. I had gone with the other donor for my first two inseminations. The first didn't work and the second ended in a difficult miscarriage that played out over 4 weeks before it finally happened. My doctor thought the baby had genetic problems and we would have done the CVS test if I made it to 12 weeks (I made it to 10). So after that I decided to switch to this donor and got pregnant with my little man on the first try. Good luck to you and your partner!

I feel like you should all know that there was a 6 month hold on sperm from this donor between December 2010 and June 2011. I know this because we tried to buy extra vials during this time as we had already conceived and thought we should "stock up" for later siblings. It turned out to be lucky that we called because Fairfax wasnt going to let us know, and we were about to have choices about genetic screenings, etc. The hold was due to medical issues with one offspring, a feeding issue and a hearing issue. The donor has, obviously, been cleared, but I do think having info is important. if you decide to use this donor, I would ask to speak with the genetic counslor at Fairfax, Suzanne Seitz for more information.
Meanwhile, our son was born in May and is quite charming. We will continue to follow the medical updates on the forum and have his hearing checked often.

Well, looks like 3rd time may have been the charm. Test is POSITIVE. :) We go in tomorrow for a second preg test just to be sure.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!! I'm so excited for you guys! I've been wondering and thinking about you. So excited that we will have a sibling in NJ! So far there are 3 boys and 1 girl that we know about. Good luck with your pregnancy!
  • JanetJanet Member Member
Thanks, Jess... I will definitely keep you updated. I'm freaking out a little, but very excited. :) Where are the other siblings located? Do you know? Did you join the sibling registry list?
  • jess237jess237 Junior Member Junior Member
It's all very exciting! I can't wait to be pregnant again and the baby is only 5 months old! One is in Boise if I remember correctly and I don't know where the others are. I have heard from 2 of the 3 parents. Yes, I'm on the sibling registry but I would wait until your peanut arrives before you join because it is $75 yearly I believe. Keep me posted! So happy for you guys----and our kids!

    Hi All,

I'm the mom of Charles "Liam" Wallace, born June 22, 2011, in Boise, Idaho using donor 4009. Liam is the most awesome baby! I'm so sorry for the medical scare as Liam was born medically complicated, and my peditrician finally convinced me to report his issues to Fairfax at which point there was an investigation.

But, Liam is on the mend and nothing appears to be herditary, just the luck of the draw.

I hope everybody is well. Sunny

hi sunny! so cool to find another person who shares our donor. My partner is now 7 weeks preg, and we have a due date of June 24. Wouldn't it be interesting if they shared the same birthday but a year apart??

Hello! This is the mommy of the only girl offspring (that we know of) produced from donor 4009. We are registered on DSR. We initially paid for the one year on DSR, because of the medical issue that we heard about and I was 8 months pregnant at the time (and freaking out!!!!!), but since then have joined lifetime on the site. It's great to hear from other parents of offspring from this donor.

    Hi there,
I had an adorable baby boy on August 23 2011 with Donor 4009. This was my first IUI attempt at age 37. From the donor registry I know there are 5 more babies born in 2010-2011. Happy to answer questions.

It would be great to find a cache of vials for 4009! We are in the market as well! We know how to work with banks/fertility clinics to make the process smooth if any one has extra!
