So my doc does progesterone tests 7dpIUI

1st IUI on 50mg clomid days 3-7 had one follicle the progesterone level was 38.54
2nd IUI on 100mg clomid days 4-8 had 8 follicles 4-5 mature the progesterone level was 56.45
3rd IUI on 100mg clomid days 5-9 had 7 follicles 2-3 mature the progesterone level was 27.39

So my question is should I be concerned that its lower this time? I thought it got higher with more follicles but this time it got lower. I think my doc said anything over 10 means I ovulated so I guess I did I just dont understand why it dropped this time. I am now 10dpIUI I am holding off to test till atleast Friday this week. Really hoping for a BFP seen too many BFNs

    Hi,

My doctor does progesterone level checks 7 day post IUI also. They have told me anything over 15 means you ovulated. I wouldn't be concerned because you know you ovulated either way whether the level was higher than last time or not. Your first two levels were way higher than mine ever were. Mine have been in the 20's every time.
I have had 3 failed IUI's. Good luck!

Oh im soo sorry to hear your 3rd try failed too...I was really hoping the 3rd time would be a charm for you!! You going to keep trying?? Are you using meds?? I want to keep trying if this time didnt work I just dont know if I can afford it. We would be going to injectables next time I believe.

Yes...first two rounds were on 50mg clomid...third attempt was on 100mg clomid. All three I had the trigger shot on day 13. Last two times I had two large follies. The first time was a flop because the sperm count was just 3 million.
I've been very discouraged. I'm just 31 and he says I have no fertility issues. I just don't get why it is not working. I can't keep this up. I have an appointment today to try for a fourth time. If it doesn't work he wants to move on to injectibles but I just can't afford it. My insurance doesn't pay for any of it and everything has been out of pocket. It really is a stretch to do it this fourth time.
Good luck to you. Keep me posted.

I def know how you feel....this is the last time my insurance will pay anything (which isnt much) so the next time will be completely out of pocket...would be around 2500 without sperm to do the injectable cycle....wish my insurance atleast covered some of the meds but it covers NO fertility meds at all. I am 28 and seem to be without fertility problems but it still hasnt worked for me either =/..anyways good luck this time!!!

    hey Ladies,

I wanted to encourage you both to KEEP YOUR CHIN UP! I am currently on my 2ww on my 4th try. the first 3 cycles were unmedicated this forth was with the help of clomid. the average amount of time it takes to work is usually 4-6 tries so you are both way under the minimum. We have been doing this all completely out of pocket as well. Things have been tight at times but I have found that I have been willing to let things go that you to matter so much before this journey started for us. I wish you tons of luck with the stressful process and hope you remember that it will all be worth it the day you see that STUPID pee stick say "PREGNANT"

Wishing you lots of peace in the meantime!

    Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to offer my advice here. The out of pocket does truly suck and while my medical insurance is having me pay out of pocket for 6 cycles before they kick in any contribution, the plan that administers my meds does pay for the injections so I only have a copay. The last time they ordered extra meds and I did end up with my BFP but that ended in MC. Had that not ended in MC I would have donated my unopened meds back to the doctors office for patients who either don't have insurance coverage at all or their coverage does not cover those meds so check with you doctor to see if they have a program like that. Hang in there ladies!

well I got another BFN Im wondering if the trigger didnt work for me this time so I ovulated later which of course caused my progesterone to peek later....everything in this 2ww was delayed...the "fake" symptoms started later then normal and my period was a lot later...im not even sure there is a way to know but I am going to a different doc to see if he can give me more answers

I'm sorry. I know there is nothing I can say that will make it better. But, hang in there. It will happen. Don't give up. I had to take a month off between my 2nd failed IUI and the 3rd one. If you need a month off you should take it. It definitely takes its toll on you emotionally.

Ive had no choice Ive always had to take a month off between them...to save money and to get myself together emotionally....and now that I'm going to a different doc I def have to take a few months off
