What does THIS mean?!?!

Ladies I have a few strange things going on...My AF is due in about 5 days, beta is scheduled in 2 on Tues a.m. Spent all of yesterday in the blazing sun at a reggae WINE festival (didn't even sip :shock: ) So about halfway through this 7 hr festival, I started with massive sneezing. It got so bad that my sinus passages closed up and I was breathing through my mouth. Then the headache started...I made sure I was drinking gallons of water the whole day.

So fast forward to this morning....I wake and can tell my nose has been bleeding and probably will start again sometime soon. Then when I inserted the progesterone vaginally there was fresh blood on the applicator tip. I thought that was strange because progesterone will DELAY AF not make her show up early. Then in the shower, I wiped and there was a fresh bood streak, my nose started bleeding essentially at the same time. And now I'm slightly crampy...

Anyone have any theories/thoughts??

I'm scared to take a HPT since my beta is very soon and I don't want to be bummed if my body is playing tricks with my brain.

That sounds very strange. I've never heard of that. But, I'm not using progesterone. I've been using clomid and I can tell you that as strange as it sounds I have found myself sneezing a LOT since I started this whole thing. It is strange at times. I've googled it and nothing. It makes no sense other than it is just me.
Don't freak out. If you are having nose bleeds then don't get scared about the vaginal bleeding unless it gets really heavy. I bled during the 2ww of my first IUI. If it starts to get heavy you may want to contact your doctor and let them know whats going on. Are you on any medication that thins your blood?

that is so strange but i googled it and some people say a bloody nose is a sign of pregnancy
Call your doctor and check in but it might be time to take the test and see what is going on..to me it is looking like this is your month

I am testing tomorrow am. My period is due tomorrow afternoon or tuesday morning. No signs of a period yet..but we shall see! Fingers crossed. Keep me posted!

Thank you for the responses ladies! One interesting fact that I forgot is that since I started all this fertility stuff I've been prone to getting nosebleeds right before and sometimes at the onset of AF usually when I first wake up. Apparently this can be caused by hormonal changes. I'm not on any blood thinners but I do eat quite a bit of seaweed (lately I can't get enough) and I eat a spinach salad once or twice a day. I've read that these are some foods that should be avoided if someone is on anticoag meds because it can increase bleeding.

Thanks Charlotte, I googled and this was noted as one of those strange early preggo symptoms. The cause is the hormones and increase in blood flow which put pressure on delicate vessels in the nose. BUT then this could all just be from all the hard sneezing which caused nasal congestion then voila, nosebleed!

The cramps have subsided and now I'm feeling it start back up but on the left side. The spotting is more like blood tinged mucus with some darker streaks. I have a liner which I changed in a few hours so I could monitor if its a flow or minimal spotting. So far it looks very different but then again the progesterone residue is mixed in...sorry about this TMI and ick factor

So the answer to this question "what does this mean" is that AF decided to show up much earlier than ever despite the progesterone. I continued to spot intermittently from Sunday and then I took a HPT this morning and BFN then came the gush of bright red blood. I knew that this was certainly AF and not implantation bleeding which I've read is brownish/pinkish. Then I dragged myself in for bloodwork this morning knowing that it would confirm my HPT and sure enough it was indeed negative. Last night I decided that I wouldn't be bummed out but have resolved to do just one more cycle and then I'm DONE. Perhaps it's just not in the cards for me and that at 41 it's just too late...and I missed the window of opportunity 10 years ago when this was the farthest thing from my mind.

I think that it's fair to say that 5 tries is enough especially since I really cannot afford to keep throwing approx $3000 to the wind every 28 days. I have been blessed to have good coverage for all of my meds but absolutely zero for everything else. So I'm scheduled to go back in tomorrow for a baseline ultrasound and potentially start the injectables again. This will be my 2nd and last attempt on injectables, the first three IUI's were on Clomid. I'm also going to change donors because perhaps that fact that he's been a donor since Jan, but doesn't have any confirmed pregnancies is concerning. Now I've got to frantically pick another one and quickly!!

I'm so sorry! Maybe the next donor will be the charm! I know its difficult to keep at this and get a negative each time but I truly believe it will happen for you! Isn't it crazy that once we feel responsible and ready to have a child our bodies don't cooperate like we wish they would! Keep your head up and your thoughts positive, like I know you do!

Have your nosebleeds stopped?

Well so much for starting this cycle. This morning the ultrasound showed too many large leftover follicles 5 on the left and 5 on the right. Hence the reaction to my ovaries being stimulated by meds (although I don't have fertility "issues") it would be easier if I just did things the old fashioned way?! Anyway I'm pretty salty right now and just wish this would happen already.

BTW, no more nosebleeds but I know that was just a sign of AF. :x

Did the dr know why that happened? Are you able to try again this month or do they want you to take a month off? I'm so sorry you are dealing with another road block. It is totally normal for you to be pissed if fact I think it would be weird if you weren't. Eat some sushi and drink ome wine and then think positive thoughts tomorrow

Thanks for the positive energy and support ladies. Today was possibly the worse period I can remember in years. I was bleeding like a stuffed pig all morning. Soaked a super pad in an hour then switched to a super tampon and that did the trick. Just felt like leaving work and going to bed with some tea. I managed to get through the morning and then the call came in from the doc. I was told that I didn't have to skip this cycle and was started on birth control pills for 6 day. This will shrink the cysts (leftover follies). I go in next week for baseline ultrasound to determine if the cysts are gone and then hopefully start the injectibles.

So I may still be in for a 2012 Easter bunny baby!
