Donor with no confirmed pregnancy

DJ3196DJ3196 Junior Member Junior Member
Has anyone ever used a donor that didn't yet have confirmed pregnancy? I'm looking at two donors and my first choice has no ID Options and no confirmed pregnancies. But he fits all my other criteria, including limited family health concerns. I'm 40 and I feel like I don't have many shots at this and am trying to figure out if it's a risk to go with my first choice.

FYI - my second choice is 4031 with whom there has apparently been great success judging from the posts about him.

Well...that's a hard question. I have used two different donors, whose pregnancy range is very low, 1-5...I think it depends on how new the donor is...if he's new, it's probably why there are no reported pregnancy. I think if the donor has been around for a while, then I'd be concerned that either no one is using him or no one is getting pregnant. Why don't you start a new topic with the donor that you're considering (you didn't mention him below)....maybe someone can give you input (if they've used him). Good luck!!!

How long has your first choice donor been available at Fairfax? If it is just a couple of months than I would use him if he is perfect to you for a cycle or two. If his numbers post wash are lower than what they guarantee than MOVE ON QUICKLY! If they are good.. give him a chance. Every donor starts off with no pregnancies.

On the flip side of the coin be careful about picking a donor just because he has success. It is important to remember the big picture in this journey. Pick a donor for his qualities that you admire. You will have to compromise somewhere along the way but dont choose a donor just because others have had success with him..although it is very tempting at times :)

Wishing you much luck in your journey

How can you tell how long a donor has been with the bank?

I think you can call and ask. Wish theyd just put it on the donor profile or something.

Yeah, I had to ask them directly. I did with an online chat feature they have available. They could tell me how long each had been donors but not how many times they'd been purchased or if there were any failed pregnancies. But I'm okay, I'm confident in my decision. :)
