How many inseminations each month?

We are getting close to starting IUI and we are trying to decide if we are going to try once a month or twice. Our practice recommends twice to all their patients, but all of our friends who have gotten pregnant with IUI only did one try per month. I'm curious to see what other people think.

If it's not a huge financial burden, then two times a month (back to back days) can up the chances a bit... so why not? My current doc does two, the previous one did one. I prefer doing it twice.
