Sample selection

I am about to have my first IUI procedure and I am taking clomid. I was going to order the sperm and noted that no samples are available for IUI or ICI, but IVF samples are available. Can I purchase this for my first cycle? It's the weekend and no one is available to tell me if I should stop the clomid and wait till next month or continue and use the IVF samples for the first try.

You will need to consult your doctor about your Clomid and what type of vials he/she recommends for your specific prodecure.

All our donors must meet a minimum post-thaw (PT) total motile cell (TMC) count. ICI (unwashed) and IUI (pre-washed) specimens have a minimum PT standard of 10 million TMC. IVF specimens have a minimum PT standard of 5 million TMC per vial.

Please contact client services at 800-388-8407 to verify the most current inventory for your donor.

I'd check with your doctor. But if it were me, I'd either skip this cycle and get on his wait list or pick another donor because the number of the ivf vials are much too low for a good chance at iui. Or if you're heart set on it do two ivf vials and that should bring you close to iui bare minimum numbers. Good luck!
