Not Loving The Two Week Wait

Each moment, our feelings towards the outcome of the insemination change. Literally, one hour we think it’s all over; that all the symptoms my wife is feeling are menstrual related. The next hour, we are certain that THIS cramp (which ever new one it is) is really implantation. During this two week wait, my partner must have had implantation about twenty five times now. If that’s true, we are going to have one large family. ;-P

It is messing with my mind and heart, but thus, we just keep hanging in here. It does not help that my love decided to take another pregnancy test and it was negative. She took it at work yesterday around lunch time. I still think it’s too early, especially considering she just implanted yet again last night. Remember, this is not medical fact, only a crazy two week wait "fact."

Slowly, we are going off the deep end. <Nodding> The infamous THEY were right. The Two Week Wait sucks.

We hear ya!! It can be brutal!! We went in for an IUI on 9/28 and I'm trying not to count the days, but I do it anyways. Last month during this aweful ttw I was so sure I was pregnant but it didn't happen. I had so many of the same signs I remember having when I got pregnant with our daughter 3 years ago, but I was wrong. So I'm really trying not to think about all the different feelings and just wait as long as we can to test. Probably won't test until day 12 or 13. What day are you on? Good luck to you!!

I wasn't a fan either! The first time didn't work for me, but the second one I pretty much knew at about day 6 or 7 when my breasts hurt like hell. Not a usual PMS symptom for me. Turned out I was right! We ended up with a baby girl.

    Good luck!

Ok, so just out of curiosity, how many times do you take the pregnancy tests AND when do you start taking them? (tell the truth!) I am with "Smiles" on this one!!! I have experienced implantation 15 times and in the next 10 minutes I'm sure it will happen at least two more times! Then I waiver between " I don't have any symptoms, I'm not pregnant" to " OMG, my boobs look bigger and I felt a cramp, I must be pregnant!" to " oh, wait that cramp was gas, ahhhhh i dont know!" Sometimes I just stop myself and have to laugh at my craziness!

BUT my real issue now is preventing the budget-breaking repetitive pregnancy test taking! I don't have any pee strips in my house for this very reason, but I am 8 days post IUI and the midnight run to Wal-mart to clean out the pregnancy test isle seems impending!

    Someone HEELLLLPPP! (ooohhh the madness!!)

Hi! We are STILL waiting for my thyroid to be OK in order to have our first IUI. I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and praying for you!!!! Hang in there! :D

So am just curious Bc I have thyroid problems too. Why is your dr waiting on your thyroid. I just got mine under control and I have often wondered if that could have been a reason it hasn't worked yet. I started an organic diet and went off of the generic synthesis to the name brand and fr the first time in 3 years my thyroid is perfect.

    Good luck

Hi Char! My thyroid went from 17.75 to .05 in two months! Talk about over medicating! My fertility doc said that research shows that the "optimal" thyroid level for conception is a 2. Is your doc doing the full test panel? TSH, free T4, T3 and T4? If he/she is only doing to "overview", you may not be getting the most accurate level. Hope this helps! :D

Wow that's crazy. I thought my drop was good. So what else did you do to help your thyroid drop like that? My levels are just under 2 and my doc was super happy with that. I have read a lot online about th best level to get preggo is around 1 so who knows.

Did you just get diagnosed with thyroid issues a couple months ago? I was diagnosed about three years ago. It was a complete mess actually. I was misdiagnosed with mono and had just gotten engaged and wasnt allowed to kiss my fiancé for 4 months. It still annoys me to think about actually. Hah

So when do you think you will be trying. I start my next round of meds tomorrow. My RE uped my dosage of follistim from 50 to 100 for the first 4 days. Here's hoping for at least a couple good follies

Hi! I have been struggling w/my thyroid for 12 years or so. When I turned 35, it got more wacky. :-) I thought the lower the number, the better - but apparently studies show that's not the case. I'm just taking a different dose of synthroid - brand name. It's really important to take it at the same time each day and not eat for 1/2 an hour. I'm thinking about you and praying for you! :D
