How important is height?

We found a wonderful donor everything we are looking for... however, I think he is kind of short. How important is height in your donor selection? and what is too tall.. and what is too short for you?

Any advice would be great :-)

I'm not sure about anyone else but, for me, when choosing a donor I looked for physical attributes similiar to guys I would be attracted to/date - in addition to having the personality traits I would look for in a partner... For me, height is at the top of the list- along with hair and eye colour, as I've always preferred and dated guys who are at least 6' tall and tend to go for dark hair (black/brown) and light eyes (blue/green/hazel). But, of course, it really just comes down to personal preference - so Good Luck, no matter what you decide!

Thanks Jaime... That makes sense.. I really like the donor... He is just a lil short so I guess I have to decide how important that is... Or not so far... It's not a big factor.. my factor is 6 foot I'm 5'6.. so hopefully the baby will have our height.. :) but most of all be healthy... My first IUI... is next month...we are excited

I'm so excited for you! I'm not planning to have my 1st IUI until January but I've already selected my donor... And I'm only 5'3" so I like the idea of my donor being 6' to hopefully balance out my child's height (it's not easy being a shorty, haha!). I mean, not that it really matters how tall the baby grows up to be, just as long as they're healthy! I'll be thinking of you next month and wishing you lots of sticky baby dust!!

For me, I've tried to select a donor that would look like a member of my family - to maximise the chance that the baby will look like me. I'm 5'10" and all the men in my family are over 6'. So for me, personally, I only looked at donors who were over 6'.

I really think it is personal preference.

Thank you Anne and Jai.. you have good points. Well I guess all I can do is wish for the best. This donor is wonderful in all other aspects.. I can't see us switching.. I haven't purchased the sperm yet.. but plan to do so either Friday or Monday.. so it's not official.. it's like the other two donors with hight.. 6'0 and 6'2.. I don't like the baby pics and all they have are baby pics :-( or their profiles.. but they have height.. I do you have your cake and eat it too.. lol -- I will take your advice ladies and stick with my choice.. I pray for a healthy baby.. short or tall.. lol :-) Thanks again!! any other.. advice.. i am still welcoming.. it's a good topic..
