Advice with regard to history of Ectopic

This is my first post on here and sure wish I had found this resource earlier. Am hoping for advise....I have a history of an Ectopic pregnancy of which now my right tube is blocked. I am going in on Sunday am to check follicles and am pretty sure that my Right ovary is producing this month and that the lead follicle will be on the Right side. This happened to me last month and they recommended that I skip the month to decrease my chances of another Ectopic. Was hoping it would switch to Left side this month but I can always feel my left ovary when it is getting stimulated. I am taking Clomid and Follistem.
I am considering asking them to go forward even if the lead Follicle is on the Right side. Has anyone dealt with this and does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

    Hi littlepete,
I'm so sorry...I know it must be difficult....are you charting monthly? For me, I always went right, left, right, left....my left tube is blocked, so I always wanted to keep an eye on it. Did you have an HSG to confirm that it is in fact blocked?

But my RE says it's unpredictable, it's not always right, left, right, left....but for some reason, my pattern was that...you may not be like that, so you should chart just to see if you have a pattern???

Sometimes, I have felt that my left was ovulated, but really my right was...and it was confirmed with the ultrasound. I had a lot of ultrasounds with my RE to monitor, because sometimes the one side would be the dominant side, then all of a sudden, it was the other side that took over....It sounds like your RE does ultrasounds, which is a great way to confirm which side is ovulating.

I think if you have a real confirmation that the one side is blocked and that side is in fact the one that's dominant, I would be hesitant to move forward...because you may be wasting your money and time...I'm not sure why you would be so eager to move forward if it's not optimal, because it seems that it would be more heartbreaking with the ectopic pregnancy. I'm 41 (almost 42) so I understand time being a factor, but really think about it.

Good luck! There's many of us on this site that have found much support so keep using the site for information and support through the good and bad! :)

Thanks so much Maria! I was correct and (R) side ovulating..so no go this month. This is the first time that it has occurred. I have not been keeping track because I have almost always been (L) side dominant I guess. I will be paying more attention now since I have had 2 months! taking medications and have not been able to go forward. I think my wanting to try was interfering with what may be best for me so I was wanting to go forward anyway. I will be trying again next month and hoping for the switch to the (L) side and be in my 2ww with you all!
