Post-wash survival

Hello, moderator,
Can you tell me what the mean survival rate of a wash would be for thawed cryopreserved sperm if the wash is done in the RE's clinic? I realize there is some lab-specific component to the outcome, but I want to know what the averages would look like (as well as how much variance there might be in the outcome). Are certain types of washing easier for sperm to survive than other types? Just want to know how my RE's results would compare to others', in the event I have to order ICI vials for an IUI procedure.
Thanks!
Sadie

Hello Sadie,
Every RE office is going to do the wash a little bit different. I would recommend looking through the Thaw Procedures on our website http://www.fairfaxcryobank.com/ThawProcedure.shtml to see if that answers some of your questions. This is the information we send to medical offices with your vials.
Hope this helps!
