First IUI

I'm super excited that this Christmas I may be getting my first IUI. I'm hoping all goes well and the doctor on call is available if I happen to have the big O on Christmas day. After waiting a year and a half and losing one ovary I can't believe the time has finally come. I realize that there may be many other IUIs to follow but I still have hope that maybe it will take just this one.
Can some of you please share how many IUIs it took to have your bundle of joy if you took that route?

How was your first iui? I can't answer your question as I have had 2 iuis that were negative...but I'm hoping 3rd one's the charm!

It took me three times. Don't get discouraged or disappointed if things don't work the first time. Find things to do in between your cycles - personally I found that massage therapy really helped and am now seeing an acupuncturist. Best of luck to you!

First baby, one IUI. Second baby 2 IUIs

I took me 4 iui's in 8 months. My body would only allow me to do an iui every other month due to cysts and a low ovarian reserve. I too only have one ovary and am 37 years old. I got my BFP in october and am now 13 weeks and 4 days pregnant today! the baby is due July 4th! It all depends on having everything align for you at the right moment. Keep the positive thoughts coming and it will happen. you might need a little patience but it is all worth it in the end!

It took me 4 IUI to get pregnant with this baby girl. The first 3 were with natural cycle and the one it took I had 50mg of Clomid day 2-6. I am due on March 5. I remember my Clearblue ovulation monitor was positive on Sunday June 12, and I had my IUI on Monday June 13. The follicles (I had 2) were already burst and teh eggs were in the fallopian tube already...it was perfect timing, and of course with a healthy egg. I am 39 year-old and very healthy. I am considered low risk, so far all has been great!
Happy New Year to you all!

Thank you for your responses. I did get a BFP with my first IUI but I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. It was one of the hardest things I've been through in my life. As of this month my body has finally recovered and I hope to start trying again next month.

Unfortunately we weren't so lucky this month but we are going to take a few months off and try again later.

I'm sorry it didn't work out this time. I hope you have a nice relaxing break, sometimes that helps.

A year later and a positive HPT!!!! I'm cautiously optimistic. Just thought I'd update everyone.

I think that has to be the best news you received in a year. Here's to starting the year off right!
